Realistically the Russian submarine may already be with the tanker, but special forces arriving by air aren't likely to have much of a problem with a submarine - would the submarine attack the USCG cutter in response over a tanker? No.

The MARINERA is now within Iceland’s exclusive economic zone, per satellite AIS data, which updated few hours ago.
It's unclear where the Russian Navy will meet and escort the empty oil tanker. I suspect they won't do anything in fear of complicating relations with Donnie.

Pro-government media outlets have denied the claims, instead blaming the Kurdish-led Internal Security Forces (Asayish) for the attack.
This comes as the factions affiliated with the Damascus government started shelling the Kurdish dominated neighbourhoods of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah.
