Some sources allege that there is a fierce political battle going on in Mali between different factions of the military and bureaucracy and even foreign nations like Russia where all of them seek to install their own candidate as the new minister of defense

The two most likely nations to profit from this weakened Russian position in Mali are Turkey and the UAE

While less high profile than Russian involvement the two nations have been building their own networks in Africa over the past year's

Turkey provides military equipment like Bayraktars, APC's etc and contractors like Sadat to multiple countries in the region like Libya, Burkina Faso, Chad, Niger, Mali ofc but also places like Somalia.

While it is ofc nonsensical to suggest they might replace the Africa Corps as Turkey neither has the willingness or capabilities for a larger ground deployment in the region they can still profit from the situation.

Meanwhile the UAE's influence in the region is even more under the radar in the region. While everyone ofc knows of the UAE's despicable acts in Sudan and the horn they have been increasingly active in West Africa as well.

The UAE unlike Turkey has less of a direct military relationship but a more strongly economic one. Ever since the rupturing of ties with France and ECOWAS the UAE has approached the AES states with an economic partnership where the UAE invests nice sums in these countries in exchange for resources like Gold.

The UAE is no stranger to mercenaries as one might know and if Russia's position as the primary resource guardian is weakened significantly the UAE will surely find a way to involve themselves in it.

So yeah keep an eye out for the Turks and Emiratis because if Russia continues to perform poorly in Africa these two will be the ones to try and pick off deals Russia has with various nations for themselves, including Mali
