Rachel Friedberg is Teaching Professor of Economics, Faculty Associate of the Program in Judaic Studies, and Faculty Associate of the Population Studies and Training Center. Friedberg earned her Ph.D. at MIT, joining Brown as an Assistant Professor, and serving for four years on the faculty of the Department of Economics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her research focuses on the economics of immigration, specifically econometric analysis of the outcomes and impacts of immigrants in the United States and Israel, about which she has testified before Congress and participated in Knesset committee deliberations. She is currently exploring the intersection of economics and Jewish studies.

Friedberg’s Principles of Economics course is the most popular class at Brown, taken by half of all undergraduates.

🇺🇸BREAKING: The suspect in the Brown University shooting has been identified as 24-year-old Benjamin Erickson from Wisconsin, according to The Washington Post.

He was arrested at a hotel about 15 miles from the Providence campus.

As can be seen on the bookshelf, Akram was studying Iqra and Tajweed, all associated with the Salafi school of Islamic thought. This discredits any evidence that he would work with Iran, a Shi'a theocracy guided by the Ja'fari school of Islamic thought.

Salafi and Shi'a infamously have bad blood and consider each other apostates. It's highly unlikely that Akram was working with or affiliated with Iran, and this further discredits the ongoing narrative attempts to pin the attack in Bondi Beach as an attack sponsored by Iran.

It was an intro to Econ class than any undergrad could be taking. It was a test review and the professor who was the probable target was not afaik among the injured
