Australian sources reported that the citizen who neutralized one of the terrorists with his bare hands is Ahmad al-Ahmad, a store owner who was walking along Bondi Beach in Sydney. Ahmad was seen on footage hiding behind vehicles, approaching the terrorist and lunging at him from behind. The two struggled over the weapon until Ahmad snatched it from the terrorist and shot him. When the terrorist fled, Ahmad was recorded throwing stones at him.
Australia's Channel 7 interviewed his relatives, who said Ahmad was wounded by gunfire during the struggle and is currently in surgery.
