👀 His daughter was deposed from power this summer and he himself is facing a court trial in a couple days

🇦🇪 He was supposed to fly to Singapore for a medical checkup however his private plane was last spotted in Chennai, India likely heading to Dubai

✍️ Thaksin already spent 15 years in exile, a large chunk of that time in Dubai

✍️ Thaksins lawyer has denied that his client is fleeing and says that he will appear in court in 5 days

👀 There are also rumours swirling around that his daughter, recently deposed Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, and her family are also on the plane

🥸 However she has denied it and says she is in Thailand and just put her kids to sleep, which I personally tend to believe

👀 🇱🇧 Reports of the LAF sending reinforcements to Beirut and raising its readiness level to 75% ahead of this friday’s government session to approve the Army’s plan to disarm hezbollah

➕ Those are preparations for expected pro-hezbollah protests this week that might turn violent in response to the decision. The group threatened to stop all forms of cooperation with the government if the decision, something that hezbollah openly considers a “grave sin”, is approved, as tensions between the two keeps getting worse

🕊 The Junta attacked positions of the KNA with drones today, in typical Junta fashion they also hit a civilian bus, killing six including a pregnant woman.

📊 The reason why exactly the Junta has started doing this is not exactly clear but it is beloved that the KNA is refusing to let the Junta organize elections in territories held by them.

💬 The KNA, also known as the DKBA, was "founded" in 2024 after splitting away from the Junta and rebranding into the KNA from their previous name the Karen BGF

🥸 They are semi "neutral", having helped out the Junta in the recapture of Myawaddy although not fighting themselves, in the conflict and in reality nothing more than the private army of a man called Saw Chit Thu.

🇺🇸🇬🇧 Saw Chit Thu is sanctioned by both the UK and USA and is considered the most influential criminal in all of Southern Myanmar.

🇨🇳 Having deep ties to the Chinese triads, operating scam call centers being involved in drug, weapons and human smuggling and basically every other criminal activity you can think of

✍️ The KNA is mainly based in the town of Shwe Koko which is pretty infamous for being a massive criminal hub and basically the IRL version of Roanapur from Black Lagoon

🇲🇲 Just to explain to you guys how complicated the average piece of information about the civil war is:

🔄 What is now the KNA, was actually founded in 1994 as the DKBA.

🫦 In 1994 a group of soldiers split away from the KNLA, founded 1949, which itself is an offshoot of the KNDO, founded 1947, and formed the DKBA

🤝 Shortly after that the DKBA signed a ceasefire with the military and began working with them to fight the KNLA.

🔽 In 2009 the DKBA officially became a part of the military as a BGF, BGF's are Border Guard Forces and mostly consist of former rebel groups turned warlords allied to the army.

💬 Due to this in 2010, commanders inside the DKBA split of and founded the DKBA-5.

🤡 Then in 2024, after the junta had suffered serious defeats, Saw Chit Thu saw his chance and officially cut ties with the Junta and remanded the Karen BGF into the KNA.

👀 So it goes:

🥸 British Military veterans for the KNDO, who's offshoots go on to form the KNLA, in the 1970's the KNDO then organizes itself into the KNLA, then the DKBA splits from it, later renaming itself into the K-BGF, which leads to a battalion of it forming the DKBA-5 i, the K-BGF then proceeds to split from the Junta and become the KNA
