Footage of the police charging the protestors in an attempt to disperse them

The attempt failed and upon realizing they are in a fucked situation, surrounded by angry protestors, the police literally just ran away

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ชโšก- "This mockery of taking over the presidential palace can only be staged by the regime to discredit the 310 days peaceful protest of the Georgian people. As the legitimate President I formally reject this and continue standing with my people peacefully until we win new elections," - Salome Zourabichvili, former President of Georgia.

Btw while nearly the entire capital is filled with anti-government protestors the Georgian Nightmare has the audacity to claim that they are so popular they won the obviously not rigged whatsoever elections with over 70% of the votes

Make it make sense

Btw the rat is an oligarch who has as much wealth as 25% of Georgia's GDP, most of his wealth made by exploiting the economic chaos during the collapse of the Soviet Union

Even if you don't care about his politics, he is still very obviously human scum

Georgian Dream must possess a new advanced form of mathematics

Voter turnout was 33%, they got 70% in most places and yet 80% of the nation supports them according to their own statements

Truly interesting calculations

โœ๏ธHereโ€™s a couple of reasons why these protests are happening for those of you dear readers who are not in the loop:

๐Ÿ•“EU Accession Delays / Suspension
Georgia has long sought to join the European Union, and many citizens see this as a path toward stronger democracy, better governance, and distancing from Russian influence. Recent decisions by the ruling party to pause negotiations or delay parts of the accession process have angered many who believe Georgia is sliding away from the West.

๐Ÿ‘€โ€Foreign Agentsโ€ / โ€œForeign Influenceโ€ Laws
One of the biggest catalysts for protest was a law or proposed laws that would require NGOs, media organizations, and other groups receiving a certain amount of funding from abroad to register as โ€œforeign agentsโ€ or โ€œorganisations under foreign influence.โ€ Critics argue this mirrors similar legislation in Russia and is a way to stigmatize, control, or suppress dissent, civil society, and independent media.

๐ŸคขAllegations of Authoritarianism and Erosion of Democratic Institutions
Protesters accuse the ruling party, Georgian Dream, of undermining democratic norms. Among the accusations are:
โ€ข Election irregularities (especially surrounding the October 2024 parliamentary election) โ€” many believe the process was manipulated in favor of Georgian Dream.
โ€ข Restricting media freedom, exerting control over civil society, and introducing laws that weaken checks and balances.
โ€ข Crackdowns on protestors โ€” use of water cannons, tear gas, police force, fines and arrests.

๐ŸคGeopolitical Orientation โ€” Russia vs the West
Many Georgians fear that the government is tilting too much toward Russia (or at least allowing Russian influence to grow), rather than pushing for integration with Europe and alignment with Western norms. This is especially sensitive given Georgiaโ€™s history of conflict with Russia (e.g. the breakaway regions, past war in 2008).

๐Ÿ“ขDemand for New / Fairer Elections
Because of widespread belief that the most recent elections were neither free nor fair, protestors are demanding fresh parliamentary elections under more transparent and credible conditions. Opposition parties have, in many cases, boycotted parliamentary sessions, saying the current government lacks legitimacy.
