This offensive comes following the rumoured defection of a couple hundred RSF soldiers, with weapons and equipment, near El Obeid during the week, joining the SAF.
In Blue Nile State it's been reported that the SAF are getting closer to taking back Kurmuk, a border city with Ethiopia, essentially surrounded on 3 sides by RSF, with South Sudan's border only 40-50km away.

Just to note, some previous SAF maneuver operations in North Kordofan have proven short-lived, with SAF or Joint Force units eventually withdrawing after attacking and seizing territory, ceding ground back to the RSF.
Therefore it remains to be seen if the operation represents a major breakthrough.

⚡️🇩🇪 German police have identified 21-year-old Abdul B. as the suspect who drove a vehicle into a crowd at the CSD Pride Parade in Berlin, killing one person and injuring 16 others. Police said several of the victims also suffered stab wounds during the attack. He remains at large.

Gironde wildfires threaten sites at the heart of France’s nuclear deterrent
The fire front is reportedly now around 4 km from CESTA, home to the Laser Mégajoule—one of the principal facilities supporting France’s nuclear-warhead simulation programme.
Other strategic sites potentially threatened include:

▪️ Dassault Aviation Mérignac, responsible for final assembly and flight testing of Rafale fighters.

🇺🇳The UN General Assembly has voted to reappoint Volker Türk as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights for a second four-year term.
Despite objections from the United States, Russia, and Israel, Türk was reappointed to the position.
