A Ukrainian FP-1/2 drone hit Russiaโs Admiral Essen Project 11356 frigate at Novorossiysk naval base on May 23.
๐บ๐ฆ๐๐ท๐บ
Unfortunately it was not the "new" admiral Essen that was hit but rather the 1981 Krivak II ASW frigate Pytlivyy.
๐
The drone also appears to have hit the dock only damaging the vessel.
๐ท๐บ
Given the vessels age its probably net win for Russia.

Turkish KAAN fighter is stuck.

The production can't start since its using American F110 engine and the Congress hasn't given an approval.

Optimistic timeline for "indigenous" engine is 2032.

Even with the new engine, UK and EU will still have veto powers over export.

The U.S. is not the only place where a populist billionaire can win elections.

Czech PM Andrej Babiลก has a long-running conflict-of-interest over Agrofert โ a massive agro-holding he controls and the biggest subsidy recipient.
๐ช๐บ
The EU has now sent Prague a strongly worded letter demanding an explanation and a real resolution of the issue.
๐คช
Naturally, the only logical response is to change his home, office, parliament and multiple ministries addresses as many times as needed so the letters stop arriving.
๐จ๐ฟ๐ธ
Babiลก has already suggested that if Brussels stops reimbursing the subsidies, the Czech state budget can pay them instead.

A friend of Trump, Orbรกn and Fico. Go figure.

Rebel forces raided a base in the Naypyidaw region in central Myanmar, after killing the garrison and taking what they could they set the base on fire a withdrew again
Naypyidaw is the capital of Myanmar and the military and administrative heart of the Tatmadaw, with the entire city being purpose built as a capital just for the Tatmadaw
Due to the offensive operations all around the edges of the country rebel forces are able to more easily hit the central lowlands from where much of the troops were taken from

with the entire city being purpose built as a capital just for the Tatmadaw
Naypyidaw was built on what was essentially completely empty land in the centre of the country starting in 2002 and finishing by 2012. Although it was already designated as the capital by 2005.
The site was not previously permanently inhabited and the capital prior to that was Rangoon/Yangon.
Sometime in the 90's the Tatmadaw, Myanmar's armed forces, thought about needing a new capital city.
Yangon was seen as too geographically vulnerable and too tied to normal civilian governance. Additionally the city had a large urban working population which were prone to revolting against the Military.
So they decided to completely cement their position as the rulers of the nation they would build a more centrally located new capital without any ties to such ridiculous nonsense as non-military rule and ordinary working people.
Naypyidaw was also built into what was basically a military fortress that could withstand any popular uprisings or ethnic insurgencies. It's geographic positioning in the centre of the country also ensures that any forces trying to take it will have to march through the entire nation prior.
The previous capital Yangon lacked such built in and also geographic defense and was also once on the verge of capture by Karen rebel forces during the beginning of the civil wars in 1948
Naypyidaw to this day remains largely deserted of common people with everyone living or working there being affiliated with the Tatmadaw somehow.
That's why it's often called a ghost city as it basically doesn't have a permanent normal civilian population and is just an eerily empty concrete jungle

Palaces for the leaders of the military and replicas of famous monuments from the rest of Myanmar were built to pretend that it's a normal city

Some pictures from the Battle of Insein 1949 between the Burmese government and the Karen forces, just North of Naypyidaw
The TLDR is that the Karen, which had been Britain's favorite ethnic group in Burma, revolted against the new Burmese government due to the latter refusing to grant them autonomy.
The Karen upon their revolt overwhelmed the Burmese government forces which were. The difference in quality of their forces and officers was stark.
The Karen had a long standing martial culture and due to the British preferring them they made up a disproportionate amount of the pro-British Burmese forces.
Via British training the Karen had the best trained soldiers and offices in the country
In the end it took a coalition of the Burmese government, the Burmese communists, which themselves were at war with the government, and all other loyal ethnic groups to repel the Karen forces and lift the siege of the capital
Karen forces retreated into their ethnic homelands and continued their insurgency to this day
