Ukraine’s High Anti-Corruption Court ordered former Presidential Office head Andriy Yermak held in custody with an alternative bail of ₴140M. NABU and SAPO said he was notified of suspicion in a case involving an organized group accused of laundering ₴460M during an elite construction project near Kyiv. The qualification is Part 3 of Article 209 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code.

Andriy Yermak said he does not have ₴140M for bail but has enough acquaintances and friends who may help cover it. He denied all accusations, said he remains in Ukraine and has nothing to hide. Yermak said he did not prepare for this and will appeal the High Anti-Corruption Court’s decision to place him in custody with an alternative bail.

Could be that some in the government want to hold elections earlier like what happened in Germany in 2024 where the government collapsed around half a year before regularly scheduled elections should have taken place

Okay I was wrong I just googled Latvian law a bit and it seems unlikely this will result in new elections early due to the fact that when presidents dissolve the Latvian parliament a popular vote is held and if the population is not okay with it he gets removed from office, so they are rather scared to do so.

The Belgian consulate in Israel refused to renew the passport of a settler who resides in an illegal settlement in the occupied West Jerusalem.

Annabelle Herciger-Tenzer an Israeli-Belgian citizen who lives in the illegal settlement of Pisgat Zeev complained about the decision saying: "I’ve been living in Pisgat Zeev for more than 20 years…suddenly, this emotional homeland is rejecting me. And for what? Not because, God forbid, I committed a crime, but because I live in Jerusalem"

She additionally said she feels like her "emotional homeland" slapped her in the face.

Statement from the consulate to her: "After reviewing our population registry records, we found that you reside in a settlement that is not recognized under international law, to which Belgium is committed. Therefore, it was not possible to register you at this address in the population registry of the Belgian consulate in Jerusalem. Accordingly, we hereby inform you that you are no longer registered with this mission.”
