If I have to guess and I can be dead wrong I would say they are getting prepared for the possibility of escalation and confrontation with Russia, thus deploying additional asset just in case thing go south.

Trump kinda greenlighted Ukraine, which mean deep strategic strike against Moscow or the Kerch bridge and other HVT might happen.

And Russia well, we don’t know how they might react to this, they might escalate and go as far as to strike NATO territory, or not but in any case pre-positioning asset is just logical.
