🇺🇸- Vance:
“Until yesterday, I didn't even know that Zelensky had declared his intention to send soldiers to the Prime Minister's residence. Viktor told me about it, and then I checked the information. I almost couldn't believe it was true, but it really is. This is completely scandalous. It should never happen that a foreign head of government or state threatens the head of government of an allied country. This is absurd. This is unacceptable”

Ukrainian media claims setting a new world record for the longest tank kill, which a Russian T-72B3 was destroyed at a range of 5.5 km with a single shot from a German-made "Leopard 2A6" armed with a Rheinmetall 120mm L/55 cannon capable of firing tungsten "DM-53" and "DM-63" APFSDS-T rounds. (Armour Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot Tracer).
The previous world record for the longest tank on tank kill was scored by a British Army "Challenger-1" MBT of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, destroying an Iraqi Type-59 / T-55 medium tank at 5,1 km with a D.U APFSDS round round.

🇺🇸Trump will discuss the possibility of the US withdrawing from NATO at a meeting with Rutte, according to the White House.

🇺🇸Trump will discuss the possibility of the US withdrawing from NATO at a meeting with Rutte, according to the White House.
In 2023, Congress passed a law specifically to prevent any president from leaving NATO unilaterally. It requires either a two-thirds vote in the Senate or a full Act of Congress to authorize a withdrawal

The White House is now saying that “President Trump rejected Iran’s 10-point plan and threw it in the garbage”

here is my take:
• Trump doesn’t have the authority (only Congress), but thank goodness our Congress has rubber stamped away most of their Legislative checks and balance on the Executive branch over the last 6 decades.
• Thank goodness the checks and balances our Founders had envisioned don’t really exist anymore. Or at best, the checks our Founders gave on the Executive are greatly diminished, and the scales of power between the three branches they prescribed is unbalanced.
• So, Trump might just actually do it, disrupt a whole lot of shit with it, and we will have to wait for it to go through the Judiciary until the Supreme Court rules that the President doesn’t have that authority.
• Consequences:
-NATO unity is further undermined
-Our Allies’ trust in us is eroded further
-America’s enemies will continue to doubt our deterrence capability (which is what we use to run the world)

Haunting image from today’s massacres in Beirut +250 people dead so far and +1100 hospitalized
🇱🇧🇮🇱 Pictures of some of those martyred during the Israeli strikes today.
Numerous children and women killed, amongst them journalists, social workers, and health workers.
Any talks of “precision strikes” are ludicrous. It was a blood bath.
