Some bright Iranian locals seemingly attempted to shoot down one of the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters 🚁 tasked with finding and rescuing the pilots of the U.S. F-15E 🇺🇸 downed in western Iran🇮🇷 .
To do so , they used their privately owned firearms , mainly hunting rifles🎯 .
Very surprisingly, they were not successful❌ .

Also another American A-10 aircraft was downed by Iran over strait of Hormuz.
The downing itself isn't a big deal, A-10s are due to be retired by 2029 and the pilot has survived. But interestingly enough, the downing has occured outside Iranian airspace, meaning that Iran still possesses some of the long-range SAMs.
