🇮🇱 🇱🇧 The IDF will be presenting to the Israeli government its plan to establish a new "security zone" in southern Lebanon, which will involve flattening all the Lebanese villages near the border and setting up army posts several kilometers inside Southern Lebanon.

The Israeli Defense Minister Katz has added that NO civilians will be allowed back to the area below the Litani river which is home to approximately 500 000 people and includes the city of Tyr

With the exception of a few Christian villages, everything else is to be completely leveled as the IDF sees it as the only reliable way to completely root out Hezbollah, since many of the villages they’re currently bogged down fighting in were previously cleared out in 2024

Despite planning to pretty much ethnically cleanse 934 square kilometers of land, the IDF admits this would not stop rocket fire as most launchers are north of the river and would only be useful against potential incursions or short range weapons
