🇸🇩 — The UAE-backed RSF and the SPLM-N (al-Hilu) rebels organization took over the border town of Kurmuk, near Ethiopia in the Blue Nile region.
The rebels used the Ethiopian territory as a launchpad for their offensive, taking the Sudanese army by surprise.
📝 The Sudan People's Liberation Movement - North is a political and armed organization group that was originally part of the larger SPLM, which split when South Sudan gained independence, leading to most of the organization joining the new nation. The remaining SPLM-N is itself split into two factions: one who is pro-RSF, commanded by Abdelaziz Al-Hilu, and one who is pro-government, commanded by Malik Agar.

According to Reuters, as a result of recent strikes by Ukrainian drones, approximately 40% of Russia’s oil export capacity has been knocked out. That amounts to roughly 2 million barrels per day.
While the Gulf States oil cannot be exported, this should have been a "golden opportunity" for Russia, but as a result of the latest strikes on oil terminals, Russian oil exports have fallen to a minimum.
