The IRGC claims hitting a USAF F-18 fighter jet, there's a video of it being hit, but waiting for the confirmation of its authenticity

However, if the jet was indeed hit (we'll see if CENTCOM will comment on this matter), then likely a "Majid" air defense system was used.

The system has only 8 km firing and 15 km detection range, however it's very cheap to produce, small, easy to move and relatively good for ambushes.

Its missiles fly at speed of around Mach 2+-, so evading them at low altitude is difficult. Despite the proximity-fuse and small warhead, it's enough to fuck up the airframe and render the targeted fighter jets out of combat. (the likely candidate for the F-35 hit earlier)
