The Pentagon barred press photographers from recent briefings after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s staff complained that photos from a March 2 briefing were “unflattering.”
Major outlets like AP, Reuters, and Getty had published the images.
Following the complaints, photographers were excluded from two later briefings (March 4 and March 10).
The Pentagon said the move was about space and that official photos would be released instead.
