✍️ Personal take/rant about the situation in Mexico:

While it's, rightly so, been mentioned a couple times now that a lot of the guys are probably very pissed off their boss just got obliterated I'd like to add something I see as a factor for the violence

The cartels, in their own eyes, "need" to do such extreme acts of violence and chaos.

If they just let such a massive event as the killing of their leader pass it would invite further action by the state as it doesn't have to fear retaliation.

By exploding like this the cartels are trying to tell the state that it's not worth it. Every time they kill or capture someone of theirs they will kill countless civilians and soldiers/police. So the state should stop coming after them.

Now obviously the state can't just let itself be pressured into inaction, which leads to situations like these happening every time a major cartel figure gets killed/captured by the state.

🇸🇩 - Pro-Sudanese Government journalist Yasir Mostafa reports that Musa Hilal, an old influential Darfuri tribal leader has been safely evacuated to a secure area.

🥸 Yesterday the RSF attempted to assassinate Musa Hilal via drone strike, this comes amongst an effort by the RSF to mop up all remaining elements inside the Darfur not loyal to them.

✍️ An offensive against local tribal forces has been started and the fighting has been back and forth.
