🥸 The drug trade is a major source of income for many in Myanmar, be it poor farmers, the powerful ethnic armed organizations who use the drug trade to finance their fight for independence/autonomy or even the states official military itself

📈 After the Afghan Taliban switched from opium to synthetic drugs Myanmar has regained it's title as the number 1 opium producing country in the world, with around 25% of the worlds opium coming from Myanmar and the figures are only rising due to the current civil war
