We have just released an update regarding account upgrades. If you have had any trouble, please login your account and you should now see a link to renew your account before expiration. You can now tip OPCT anywhere on Reddit!
With Opacity 2.0, we made it easy for you to share your ideas with the public share preview feature. To expand on the ability to engage publicly and grow the Opacity community, we proudly announce that you can now send OPCT to any Reddit user. Reddit is perfect for engaging in interesting discussions about privacy and cryptocurrency, for discovering communities and sharing ideas - and now to spread the gift of private cloud storage!
Opacity has collaborated with the cryptocurrency subreddit r/AltStreetBets to make OPCT transfers possible with ASB's tipping bot. To start tipping, you will need to use the Harmony bridge to transfer your OPCT tokens to the Harmony network. And yes, you're not reading that wrong! One of our highest requests is to bridge to other networks to reduce or avoid ETH network fees, and this will be the first step towards trying new networks. Although we're still exploring different Layer 2 solutions, the tipping bot on the Harmony (ONE) network is a good place to start.
In the future, you will be able to purchase Opacity storage plans directly via Reddit using this bot, too. This will be another step towards reducing friction to get on-board Opacity.

What's coming for Opacity in September?
It's a holiday weekend in the US, but we have a ton of things lined up this month, so here's a quick rundown of our upcoming plans:
Opacity Drive - Desktop app for Windows and Mac is now in pre-beta testing to make sure it is ready for beta release to the general public. Beta ETA 9/10.
Opacity Mobile - Mobile app for iOS and Android is in final test stage. We are completing all features and preparing for beta release later this month. Beta ETA 9/20.
Rubic Promotional Campaign - Starting 9/6, we are collaborating on marketing with Rubic to promote their Cross Chain Platform. In addition, this will coincide with making the Rubic token swap widget available on our website so everyone can buy OPCT directly onsite without an exchange. During the campaign, ALL GAS FEES WILL BE REFUNDED BY RUBIC! The widget will also enable cross chain swaps to Polygon and Harmony. More info to come regarding this fantastic promotion.
Sia Integration - Sia backend integration is tested and working. We are enabling integration with the app along with adding a new plan that will include Sia exclusively. The cost of this plan will align with the current cost of the Sia network, so will be more expensive than Opacity plans, but it will be a consumer choice to use it. If the plan is purchased, we will use Sia storage for your account across all our properties including desktop and mobile. Beta ETA 9/24.
Cross Chain Support - We are working on enabling payment support for OPCT via the Polygon network first. Due to above priorities, this will likely be live in October. This will also impact Uniswap liquidity since we will support Polygon liquidity on Quickswap instead. We will pay for any fees to pool members to move to Quickswap when we are ready to accept payments, very likely in October.

Renew Expired Accounts Now: Keep your Opacity account alive and don't lose your data!
We have released an update to re-enable renewing expired accounts. If your account needs to be renewed, you will see a red banner when you login including a link to renew. This banner will be visible 30 days before and after your account expiration date so you can renew. If you wait until after the expiration date, your data will be read-only until 30 days after expiration. If you decide not to renew, the account and data will be removed after 30 days.
Note: Free accounts cannot be renewed, you will need to upgrade to a paid account.
Keep your Opacity account alive and don't lose your data! Renew today.

Opacity Liquidity Added to Quickswap
We have provided sufficient liquidity to the Polygon network via Quickswap to enable network swaps and activity. This step continues to lead us on the path towards accepting Opacity payments on the Matic network which will reduce fees to near zero to access the Opacity Storage service.
In conjunction with the Rubic promotion to refund fees for cross chain swaps, this is another key element in bringing Opacity costs down to a reasonable level. We don't know what ETH 2.0 has in store, but we won't wait to find out!

Updates to the Opacity Liquidity Rewards Program
We are excited to announce that we are adding Quickswap into the Liquidity Rewards Program and the Rewards interest rate will be paid at 10% for the first 3 months - September, October, November - for Quickswap only.
Participants must contribute at least $1000.00 US Dollar value of the core coin pair (Matic) + the equivalent amount of Opacity (OPCT) tokens within a single transaction to the chosen liquidity pool. This means a total of $2000.00 USD is required to meet the program minimums.
NOTE: NEW DEPOSITS TO THE UNISWAP LIQUIDITY POOL ARE INELIGIBLE FOR REWARDS AT THIS TIME (as of SEPTEMBER 10, 2021). SINCE WE ARE PROMOTING QUICKSWAP LIQUIDITY, UNISWAP DEPOSIT REWARDS WILL BE ON HOLD UNTIL WE REACH PARITY ACROSS CHAINS.
Uniswap providers can choose to move their pool to Quickswap without rewards penalty. Moving funds cross chain using Rubic is a free transaction since the fees are refunded by Rubic. New pool providers should take advantage of this opportunity to earn a higher rate and move chains for free.
