Brief Mobile Update, October 2021

I would like to share this directly with the community and explain a bit why there are 'delays' on releasing the mobile open beta. This is my message to my internal team and this is what is super important to me:

"If we nail performance, sharing, and sync, people will say WOW!! That's what I want, even with open beta, we get one chance at a good first impression."

Mobile is a wide open opportunity for crypto services. We are breaking ground in providing a mobile friendly, fully operational, crypto platform cloud service. There are very few, if any, crypto mobile apps that are not wallets, trackers, or something of the sort. Mobile will become an important centerpiece for our user experience, so making sure it is ready for public eyes is essential. I love the design, I think we nailed that already. Now, we need to improve full usability so Opacity Everywhere becomes a reality.

Brief Announcement

Dearest Community,

I am keenly aware that there has been limited messaging to you regarding the state of things. Rest assured, it is because the team and I have been hard at work behind the scenes. Also, there has been a lot of nonsense and rumors that have surfaced, which is unsurprising due to the nature of the blockchain industry. However, I am alive and well and still laser focused on the progress of Opacity. I have not been 'lurking in the shadows', I simply don't have time to dedicate to social media until we have reached the next milestone. There will be more updates and news in time, but that time has not yet come.

As the crypto market finds its footing, Opacity is already gearing up for the next stage. I have found it is counterproductive to fight the market and waste good news when the tide is against us. Things will come to light when the time is right and I strongly look forward to that time.

We are pleased to hear about the consideration for listing on Coinbase. However, it must be mentioned that there is no guarantee of such a listing and they have not worked with the Opacity team to move forward on a plan to do so. Note their disclaimer:

!Urgent Community Request!

This is definitely a strange request, but I wouldn't ask if it wasn't required and extremely urgent.

The project urgently needs 0.2583 BTC ($5,000 USD) immediately. This is a fairly small amount, but has a large impact on the projects position. As you can imagine, I won't be able to answer questions publicly, but if you are able to contribute, please DM me privately. This could be a crowd sourced donation with smaller amounts or a loan if someone is able to do lump sum. I will repay any contributions by early next week. I actually have the cash, but the transfer to Coinbase missed the wire cutoff today and I need it in BTC today.

Please take this seriously. I am fighting for this project every day to get it through a rough patch and this is part of that process.

Announcement-

The request for the interim loan is ending today. I will provide another update by the end of the week as I work through the outcome.

Thanks to all those that have reached out. The community has always been the life force of the project and many of you still continue to amaze and surprise me! 3+ years of hard work has been for you.

And there are still those that are skeptical, paranoid, and distrustful. Unfortunately, that seems to be the vicious dichotomy of crypto: you're either a savior or the devil. I truly don't want to be either. Both extremes make my job that much harder to perform.

As Opacity works through it's challenges, you will continue to hear rumors the project is dead, I'm a scammer, it's been a scam from the start, maybe I'm even Bruno. On a personal level, these all break my heart, but I try to let it roll off my back. None of these are objectively true. We delivered the application and put Bruno in jail, which was one of the proudest moments of my life!!! May his cell be cold....

I will continue to deal with our challenges until they are too difficult to overcome. All startups encounter challenges including financial, market, product, customer, investor, etc. We are no different. But I am still doing my best to face them as they come.

Mid October Brief Update

Hi all! Just a quick note this time around since there are no new details to report at the moment, but I did mention a follow-up message from last time, so wanted to stick to that. As I have mentioned in the past, this is most likely to remain the ongoing situation.

However, there are some things on a personal note I'd like to mention.

For years, I have received and continue to receive personal threats ranging from insults to outright blackmail. It has been a personal struggle and ordeal to deal with these personal and professional attacks. These attacks have been going on for years originally accusing me of being Bruno Block, being involved in scams, lying, stealing, and many other accusations. I have no more patience for them.

I didn't welcome becoming a public figure due to my concerns about this type of behavior, but my desire for transparency for the project required it. After all, I'm a privacy advocate leading a privacy centric project, so you can imagine that I prefer privacy!

Once Bruno was arrested, I felt that the project had been vindicated and I could step back publicly a bit, which was a contributing factor to me being less involved publicly. Of course, I was then accused of hiding things, so really, there is no winning.

Recently, there are renewed efforts to blackmail me with more made up stories and demanding money so they will stop. You will notice new accounts joining TG and immediately questioning me and the project. This has happened in the past, so nothing new, but it involves effort to remove them and they are an unnecessary distraction.

Please remember to verify how long a user has been active in our community and if they are spreading misinformation, please report them.

I also receive direct messages that are rude and threatening. If you are not respectful, you will be blocked, period. I have no obligation to entertain negative behavior and I'm not certain what reaction you would expect. If you threaten me and expect me to do something 'or else', do you really expect me to reply "yes, sir"? Not going to happen.

Having direct access to a CEO is a community privilege. I try to respond when I am able and I take to heart all legitimate ideas and criticism for improvement. But if the privilege is abused, it will be removed.

There are some few that send me inquiries about my health and send messages of encouragement and support. To you all, I say thank you!!

In light of all this, I still focus on staying positive and moving things forward every day. I sincerely hope everyone is staying healthy and safe!
