Opacity is proud to announce the launch of our storage interface, now live at https://storage.opacity.io!

With this update, Opacity has enabled 250mb max file size upload, which matches or exceeds some free options from other well known storage providers. For example, Mega limits free users to a maximum file size of 200MB and Box max file size for a free personal account is 250MB.
Opacity will continue to make improvements to match features and functionality of other major storage providers, while maintaining your data privacy and anonymity.

@opacityrobot just got the teased update!

To use, just start a conversation with @opacityrobot and send it a file.

Paid uploads work now, including a QR code to scan if you want to pay from mobile. All the monospaced values (payment amount, address and the handle) can be tapped to copy straight to clipboard.

The bot also sports a new yet familiar logo.

The success message now also includes the alpha.opacity link. A matching redesign for the site will be going up later today, or early tomorrow.

The whitepaper describes the existing functionality of the Opacity Storage platform as it has evolved from the fork, currently known challenges and limitations the team is working through, and plans for future improvements that must be made to realize the full product vision. We expect the whitepaper will answer many questions while raising many more. We look forward to having a healthy conversation about what it all means. Release Notes 02.15.19

MetaMask is here!

This release provides a significant ease of payment improvement by allowing payment via MetaMask. MetaMask is a browser plugin wallet that provides easy access to your OPQ tokens. It will automatically provide a popup confirmation for your payment when you select the MetaMask option during file upload. Just click confirm and the payment is sent to Opacity!

Quick Tips for MetaMask
Install browser plugin before starting your upload to avoid any interrupts in the upload process. Always confirm you are installing from the MetaMask site to protect yourself from malicious installers. MetaMask can be installed at metamask.io.
MetaMask chooses the transaction gas amount for you, but you can override it before confirming payment to reduce the gas cost, at the expense of a slower transaction.
Always use the latest version of MetaMask for the best experience.

KuCoin platform upgrade 2.0

We want to inform our community, that KuCoin will be performing an upgrade to their platform 2.0 on the 18th February, 2019, at around 0:00 AM UTC. This includes improvements to their API. In case you are using it, API 2.0 information can be found in their new API 2.0 documentation.

KuCoin asked their users to review the market performance/trends and each one of their users to decide for themselves, whether one wants to close open orders right before the upgrade or leave them open. The upgrade is estimated to take around 14 hours.
