Take relevant history 5 points
- about lmp and menstrual cycle (duration, frequency amount and associated symptoms) luke menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea
- Ci of estrogen present in female ( breast cancer, liver disease, uncontrolled htn, vte)
- allergy to copper
- Compliance to meds
- any conditions that distort the uterine cavity
Past surgical and gynecological history
Asked about mechanism of action of mirena (list in this order increase cervical mucus thickness, prevent implantation and suppress ovulation) and copper iud (irritation and prevent implantation)
Benefits of long term contraception methods (better compliance, lower failure rates, can be used for other purposes than contraception)
Type of progesterone in mirena and list all the types of emergency contraception (copper iud, levonogestrel and ulipristal)
List uses of cocp other than contraception (regulated cycle, dysmenorrhea  menorrhagia and endometriosis if continuous)
