قال المتحدث باسم الأمم المتحدة، ستيفان دوجاريك، خلال المؤتمر الصحفي يوم أمس، بأن الهجوم الأخير على مطار صنعاء يزيد من هشاشة الأوضاع مضيفاً بأن: " تُفاقم المواجهة العسكرية الجارية بين الحوثيين وإسرائيل هشاشة الأوضاع في اليمن والمنطقة بشكل أوسع".

وتواصل الأمم المتحدة التأكيد على أهمية الحوار اليمني- اليمني باعتباره السبيل الوحيد القابل للتطبيق نحو السلام والأمن الدائمين لليمن وشعبه والمنطقة.

UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric addressed yesterday at his press briefing the recent attack on Sana’a airport: “The ongoing military confrontation between the Houthis and Israel is exacerbating an already very fragile situation in #Yemen and the broader region.”

The UN continues to stress the importance of intra-Yemeni dialogue as the only viable path toward lasting peace and security for Yemen, its people and the region.

The UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, met today in Amman with Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty. The discussion covered the situation in Yemen, with a focus on UN-led efforts to advance peace and the Envoy’s engagements with the parties to the conflict on the political, economic and security tracks. They also discussed the situation in the Red Sea following the recent cessation of hostilities between the United States and Ansar Allah, and the opportunity to build on this to provide the region and the international community with the necessary guarantees to safeguard this critical international waterway. Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed the importance of resolving Yemen’s conflict and Egypt’s support for the UN’s mediation role.

I welcome the reopening of Al-Dhalea Road, a main road connecting key areas between Aden and Sana’a. The road has been closed since 2018 due to ongoing conflict.

This road opening offers practical relief, significantly reducing travel time for many Yemenis. It further improves the movement of people and goods across the country. In addition this road opening demonstrates what is possible to achieve through dialogue and compromise.

I therefore commend the constructive role played by local actors across conflict lines in enabling this important step. I urge all parties to continue efforts to open more roads, prioritize the needs of Yemeni civilians, and build on this progress.

أرحّب بإعادة فتح طريق الضالع، وهو طريق رئيسي يربط مناطق محورية بين عدن وصنعاء، حيث ظل مغلقاً منذ عام 2018 نتيجة النزاع المستمر.

إعادة فتح الطريق تمثل انفراجة عملية من شأنها أن تُخفف معاناة عدد كبير من اليمنيين من خلال تقليص وقت السفر وتحسين حركة التنقل ونقل البضائع على مستوى البلاد. كما تعكس ما يمكن إحرازه عبر الحوار والتسوية.

Spokesperson for the Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, conveys the Secretary General's message on the one year of detention of United Nations and other personnel by the Houthi de facto authorities in #Yemen: “To our detained colleagues, the Secretary-General wants them to know that they are not forgotten… Humanitarian personnel should never be targeted, never be arrested and never be detained while carrying out our mandates for the benefit of the people we serve.”

Secretary-General renewed his call for the immediate and unconditional release of all those detained, including individuals held since 2021, 2023, and most recently in January.

One year since dozens of personnel from the United Nations, non-governmental and civil society organisations, and diplomatic missions were arbitrarily detained by the Houthi de facto authorities in northern #Yemen.

Heads of United Nations Agencies and INGOs renew the demand for their immediate and unconditional release: “Nothing can justify their ordeal. They were doing their jobs, helping people in desperate need: people without food, shelter, or adequate healthcare… We call on the de facto authorities to deliver on their previous commitments, including those made to the Director-General of the World Health Organization during his mission to Sana'a in December 2024.”

Heads of United Nations Agencies and INGOs will continue to work through all possible channels to secure the safe and immediate release of those arbitrarily detained.

The UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg delivered his briefing today to the UN Security Council.

✍🏽 Key points included:

✅ The Special Envoy called shameful the continued arbitrary detention of over a year of dozens of personnel from UN, NGO, civil society, and diplomatic missions by Ansar Allah. He called again for their immediate and unconditional release and urged Security Council members to exert pressure for their freedom: “I will continue to demand their release at every opportunity I have. I made this commitment to the mother, the wife and the children of my own detained team member.”

✅ There have been multiple attacks launched by Ansar Allah attacks in Israel, including Ben Gurion airport and Israeli strikes in response on Hudaydah and Saleef ports and Sana’a airport: “I reiterate my call for all actors to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.”

✅ Following discussions over the last month with representatives of Egypt, Iran, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, the Envoy noted a regional consensus that only a negotiated settlement can resolve the conflict in Yemen and provide guarantees that the region requires.

✅ He noted that multiple frontlines across Yemen remain fragile, especially in Marib with reports of troop movement and occasional flareups. He stressed shared responsibility for all actors to resume discussions on a ceasefire.

✅ Reopening of Al-Dhale’a Road is a sign of what’s possible. “I commend again the local facilitators... and encourage the parties to protect this achievement. I hope this will lead to many more openings. Yemen’s economy is in dire need of positive and trust-building steps such as these.”

✅ Briefing on the economic situation, the Envoy called for the parties to move away from a zero-sum mindset towards pragmatism and compromise.
“More can and should be done to alleviate the humanitarian and economic hardships faced by the Yemeni people, including allowing the Government of Yemen to export oil and gas and facilitating the unobstructed flow of goods across the country.

✅ The Envoy called for the protection of civic space by all parties. Over the last month more protests led by women in Aden, Taiz, Lahj and Abyan were held demanding a more dignified life, including the payment of salaries and accountability. He noted with concern that Ansar Allah continues to suppress civil society voices and conducted a new wave of arrests in Hudaydah targeting journalists and public figures.

✅ This month marks a year since the Government of Yemen and Ansar Allah last met under UN auspices to discuss the release of thousands of conflict-related detainees. “I call on the parties to reprioritise this humanitarian file and move forward based on the agreed upon all-for-all principle.”

✅ He stressed the need to build on the cessation of hostilities in the Red Sea to provide durable guarantees to the region and the international community. This effort goes hand in hand with the work on the Roadmap to secure a comprehensive ceasefire, economic measures, and an inclusive political process. The cost of inaction is high — “Yemen cannot afford more years of division, economic collapse and human suffering.”

✅وصف المبعوث الأممي استمرار الاعتقال التعسفي منذ أكثر من عام لعشرات الموظفين من الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات غير الحكومية والمجتمع المدني والبعثات الدبلوماسية على يد أنصار الله بأنه أمر مُشين. وجدد دعوته بالإفراج الفوري وغير المشروط عنهم، وحث أعضاء مجلس الأمن على ممارسة الضغط من أجل حريتهم، قائلاً: "سأواصل المطالبة بالإفراج عنهم في كل فرصة تتاح لي. لقد قطعت هذا العهد لوالدة وزوجة وأبناء زميلي المحتجز."

✅قام أنصار الله بشن هجمات متعددة في #إسرائيل، بما في ذلك مطار بن غوريون، ورداً على ذلك شنت إسرائيل غارات على ميناء الحديدة وميناء الصليف ومطار #صنعاء: "أُجدد دعوتي لجميع الأطراف الفاعلة لحماية المدنيين والبُنية التحتية المدنية."

✅أشار إلى أنه لا تزال الجبهات المتعددة في جميع أنحاء اليمن هشة، ولا سيما في مأرب، مع ورود تقارير عن تحركات للقوات واندلاع الاشتباكات بين الحين والآخر. وأكد على المسؤولية المشتركة الملقاة على عاتق جميع الأطراف لاستئناف مناقشات وقف إطلاق النار.

✅إعادة فتح طريق #الضالع يُعد دليلاً على ما يمكن تحقيقه. "أُشيّد مجدداً بالميسّرين المحليين...وأحث الأطراف على حماية هذا الانجاز. وآمل أن يُفضي ذلك إلى فتح المزيد من الطرقات. إن اقتصاد اليمن في أمسّ الحاجة إلى خطوات إيجابية وبناءة للثقة كهذه."

✅في إحاطته عن الوضع الاقتصادي، دعا المبعوث الأطراف إلى التخلي عن التوجهات ذات المحصلة الصفرية، والاتجاه نحو البراغماتية والتسوية. "ويمكن، بل ينبغي بذل المزيد من الجهود لتخفيف المعاناة الإنسانية والاقتصادية التي يواجهها الشعب اليمني، بما في ذلك السماح للحكومة اليمنية بتصدير النفط والغاز وتسهيل تدفق السلع دون عوائق داخل البلاد."

✅دعا المبعوث إلى حماية المساحة المدنية. ففي خلال الشهر الماضي، قد لُوحظ المزيد من الاحتجاجات التي قادتها النساء في #عدن و #تعز ولحج وأبين، يطالبن بحياة كريمة، بما في ذلك دفع الرواتب والمساءلة. وأعرب عن قلقه إزاء استمرار أنصار الله في قمع أصوات المجتمع المدني، وشن موجة اعتقالات جديدة في صفوف الصحفيين والشخصيات العامة، طالت هذه المرة محافظة الحديدة.
