I just started this new piece today. One that I'm going to complete before starting on my biggest commission yet which consists of a woodland bear forest scene!

When I bought this piece of cherry burl, the pattern on it screamed peacock to me. I'm using a reference photo of a peacock that I took myself last year when my daughter and I visited a local farm. The peacock's name was Peter Pan and I just loved that name for him. 🦚

Purple Mists

These are the oldest winds:
Timeless creations out of crevices,
Of chaos, of fires and seas.

They took on shapes of old:
Ancient beings no one ever called,
Angels feared their hold.

Life bloomed and died:
They breathed with tragic cries —
Their unbridled might.

Blackened skies bled:
This cosmic fog had spread,
Ever crawling ahead.

New life had been left:
Spawned by the seeming pest
Never to be seen again.
