Un militante en una motocicleta colocó un artefacto explosivo improvisado en el automóvil, condujo hasta una distancia segura, lo activó y luego desapareció. Una de las víctimas del ataque terrorista fue el líder del partido Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam de Baluchistán y el periodista Siddique Mengal. Nadie se responsabilizó del ataque.
