🇵🇸 Dutch rights groups take government to court over arms to Israel | Middle East Eye –
Human rights groups are challenging the Dutch government in court, arguing it is complicit in alleged Israeli violations of international law in Gaza by supplying F-35 fighter jet parts.
The suit, brought by Oxfam Novib, PAX and The Rights Forum, comes after a Dutch newspaper reported that the government allowed a delivery of the components despite foreign ministry lawyers warning that Israel was committing serious violations of humanitarian law.
The components, made by the #US-based #LockheedMartin, are stored at a warehouse in the #Netherlands and then shipped to #Israel and other countries.
"The government allowed itself to be blackmailed by Israel and the US - at the expense of Palestinian lives," The Rights Forum has said.

The British so-called Sovereign Base Areas (#SBA) on Cyprus, which comprise 3% of the island’s landmass, sit just 200 miles from #Gaza. The bases are said to be the largest British #intelligence facilities outside of the #UK, although they have never been officially acknowledged.

Exclusive video and images obtained by Al Jazeera this morning show bodies piled up inside the Shadia Abu Ghazala School in the al-Faluja area, west of the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.
Witnesses said a number of people including women, #children and babies were killed execution-style by Israeli forces while sheltering inside the #school.
“The Israeli soldiers came in and opened fire on them,” a woman at the scene said. “They took all men, then entered classrooms and opened fire on a woman and all the children with her.”
The woman said there were newborn children among them. “The Israeli soldiers executed those innocent families at point blank,” she added.
Al Jazeera's Hani Mahmoud is in southern Gaza in Rafah for the latest developments.

International humanitarian law, or the laws of war, prohibits the starvation of civilians as a method of warfare. The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court provides that intentionally starving civilians by “depriving them of objects indispensable to their survival, including willfully impeding relief supplies” is a war crime. Criminal intent does not require the attacker’s admission but can also be inferred from the totality of the circumstances of the military campaign.
In addition, Israel’s continuing blockade of Gaza, as well as its more than 16-year closure, amounts to collective punishment of the civilian population, a war crime. As the occupying power in Gaza under the Fourth Geneva Convention, Israel has the duty to ensure that the civilian population gets food and medical supplies.
