Russell "Texas" Bentley on fighting to liberate Ukraine

I decided to publish this podcast immediately, since it’s extremely relevant right now.

Last night I was joined by Russell Bentley, an American soldier who’s been fighting to help liberate #Donbass (eastern Ukraine) since 2014.

The people of that region have wanted to secede from #Ukraine since 2014, but the Ukrainian government (and #NATO) don’t want it to happen.

He chatted to me from a hotel in #Donetsk. A Ukrainian bomb exploded just outside the hotel a few hours before he chatted to me.

#Donbass - A few photos taken today in Mariupol, of people leaving and those remaining.

Many of the city's inhabitants continue to leave towards Volodarskoe. From there they will be able to travel at their own discretion to the territories controlled by Kiev, or Donetsk or the Rostov region in Russia.

Thousands of people have gathered in front of one of the city's large warehouses to obtain humanitarian aid brought from Russia. Many of them were children.

Most of the inhabitants of Mariupol continue to live in basements and prepare food in the open air. There continue to be a number of corpses in the streets or near the buildings.

Today, Russians and popular militias have taken control of the municipality. Some groups of Ukrainian military are still present in the city. The population is just waiting for the end of these clashes to rebuild their future.
