A Reminder Benefits the Believers.
How to Become a Muslim

Entering into Islam is simple and easy.

A person enters into Islam by verbally expressing the following statement, known as the shahadah, with full knowledge, conviction, truthfulness and utmost sincerity:

Ash-hadu an lฤ ilaha illa Allฤh. Wa ash-hadu anna Muhammad 'abduhu wa Rasuluh.

The explanatory meaning of this statement is:

"I testify that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone โ€” (the God of Abraham, Moses and Jesus โ€” and I testify that Muhammad ุตู„ู‰ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู„ูŠู‡ ูˆุณู„ู… is His slave and Messenger."

When you utter this statement aloud you have entered into Islam.

Although witnesses are not necessary for your entry into Islam to be valid and acceptable to Allah, it is recommended to express this statement in front of other Muslims.

Preferably, in the presence of someone who is learned as they will be able to instruct you further.

As for taking a bath after you have entered into Islam, it is not an obligation, though you may do so if you wish.

Upon entry into Islam all of your past sins-no matter what level they reached-are forgiven by Allah.

He is the Most Merciful and forgives on account of grace and mercy, without requiring blood-sacrifices, tribal memberships and special genes.

The Prophet ุตู„ู‰ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุนู„ูŠู‡ ูˆุณู„ู… said:

"Islฤm wipes away all of your past sins."' [1]

Allah continues forgiving the sins of His believing servants so long as they do not knowingly and stubbornly persist in these sins and are sincere in their repentance.

As a former non-Muslim, you may have habits and influences from your past that may take time to relinquish.

They can be best overcome by focusing on the most important things first, which are the pillars and major obligations.

This will allow you to build a firm foundation from which you can then proceed to tackle those other issues more easily.

If you have just become a Muslim, then welcome! May Allฤh bless you and grant you the best of this life and the next.

[1] Reported by Muslim in his Sahih (no. 121).

Excerpt from the Book: 'This is Islam: How to Become a Muslim', Pg. 724-725.
The Truth About Jesus, His Birth, and the 25th of December

Jesus, the son of Mary (peace be upon them), never clearly said that he was God or the literal โ€œson of God.โ€ In Islam, he is respected as a great prophet of God who came with guidance and miracles by Godโ€™s permission.

Also, Jesus was not born on 25th December, and there is no solid historical proof that this was his birth date.

The Qurโ€™an tells us that Mary gave birth while eating fresh dates from a palm tree, and dates grow in warm seasons, not winter. Many historians say that 25th December was chosen later because people at that time already celebrated pagan festivals for the sun on that day.

Proofs / References:
โ€ข Qurโ€™an 19:25 โ€“ Mary is told to shake a palm tree so fresh dates fall for her, which suggests warm weather.

โ€ข The Bible does not record Jesus saying, โ€œI am God, worship me.โ€ Instead, he speaks of God being greater than him, like John 14:28 (โ€œThe Father is greater than Iโ€) and Mark 10:18 (โ€œNo one is good except God aloneโ€).

โ€ข The Bible does not give any clear date for the birth of Jesus.
โ€ข Historians explain that 25th December matched Roman pagan celebrations like Sol Invictus and Saturnalia, and the church later chose this date.

In Islam, Jesus (peace be upon him) is loved and honored. Muslims believe he called people to worship one God alone and that he was a prophet, not divine himself. Islam teaches that God has no partners, no children, and no equal.

History also shows that early Christians did not originally celebrate Christmas on 25th December. The date was chosen many years later because people were already celebrating during that time of year, which made it easier for Christianity to spread in Roman lands.

The Qurโ€™anโ€™s description of Mary giving birth under a palm tree with fresh dates points to a warm climate and harvest time, not cold winter. This supports the belief that the 25th December date is not accurate for Jesusโ€™ birth.

So the Islamic belief is clear: Jesus was a prophet of God, not God Himself, and the 25th December celebration is more connected to old pagan traditions than to his real birth.

Peace be upon those who follow the guidance!

‎As the scholars have explained in detail over the centuries, things attributed to the noble messenger of Allah, 'Eesaa (Jesus), and other prophets, in the Bible (and other remnants of knowledge) are of three categories:

‎1) Realities confirmed by the Quran.
‎2) Falsehood clarified by the Quran.
‎3) Other matters not confirmed nor rejected.

‎An example of category 1 would be the Bible verses wherein Jesus commands that only the Almighty Lord & Creator is to be worshipped, and no one else. Muslims are required to CONFIRM these things as correct, based on the Furqaan, the Criterion (the Quran), which has confirmed these things as being from the actual message of Jesus (19:36).

‎An example of category 2 would be the Bible verses where they claim he made himself equal or similar to his Creator in some ways, or worthy of worship, or that he referred to the Almighty as "the Father" or other names or descriptions unbefitting the perfection and majesty of our Lord, things which are rejected by clear Quranic texts. These verses are not allowed to be freely narrated, without clarifying their falsehood, We are CERTAINLY not allowed to confirm them as if Jesus actually said them! Allowing things like this to be attributed to our Lord's prophets and messengers in misguided interfaith forums without correcting the record, such is enough of a betrayal, yet imagine if a Muslim actually quotes the falsehood and tries to say that Jesus or one of the prophets actually said it!?

‎An example of category 3 would be the Bible verses which mention historical matters which are not proven as facts nor are they objectionable in meaning. About this category, the Prophet (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace) said:

‎ุญุฏุซูˆุง ุนู† ุจู†ูŠ ุฅุณุฑุงุฆูŠู„ ูˆู„ุง ุญุฑุฌ
‎"Narrate [things] from the Children of Israel; there is no problem [in that]." (al-Bukhari, no.3461)

‎EXAMPLES OF VIOLATIONS OF THESE BASIC PRINCIPLES & THEIR TERRIBLE RESULTS

‎1. If you reject something of the truth which has been confirmed to be the speech of Jesus (category 1), because it is "in the Bible", thinking that "Muslims reject everything in the Bible," then you have rejected what Allah actually sent down to a previous prophet, thus disbelieving in the Quran itself (for example: 2:4). (Yes, you might have an excuse with Allah based on your own personal confusion, or lack of awareness of principles, but learn!)

‎2. If you affirm some falsehood attributed to a previous prophet (category 2), that which is clearly rejected by Allah Himself, like how He denounced "fatherhood" as an attribute (112:3), and how He, the Most High, even reminds us that Jesus himself denounced this unbefitting description as well (19:35), then you have lied on a prophet, with the worst kind of lies!

‎Pay attention to this matter carefully, as the error is extremely serious & it is often violated by those not grounded in Islamic knowledge & principles, yet they are busy calling the Christians to Islam using their Bible!
