Zelensky wants to dismiss Maluk from the SBU and appoint him as the head of the National Security and Defense Council. This would be a serious mistake on the part of the President, β€” sources

It seems that someone is deliberately setting a trap for the President and pushing him towards a wrong decision. After all, Maluk is doing a great job in his position. It is under his leadership that the SBU conducts unique special operations that strengthen our position at the negotiating table. Witness the "Spider Web" operation, the attacks on Russia's shadow fleet and oil refineries, the sabotage of the Crimean Bridge, etc.

In addition, Maluk has good relations with Western partners, which is important for Ukraine's support from the West.

And to top it all off, it's unlikely that the Verkhovna Rada will vote for Maluk's dismissal. And removing him solely by presidential decree would be a politically risky decision and a blow to the President's image.

Secret U.S. Support for Ukrainian Drone Strikes on Russian Refineries and Shadow Fleet

πŸ›° U.S. intelligence and military officers continued supporting Ukraine’s long-range strike campaign against Russia’s energy and logistics backbone. Even as political decisions in Washington moved slowly, these officers kept sharing intelligence that enabled Ukrainian drones to hit critical components of Russia’s defense-industrial system, especially oil refineries. Early strikes were scattered and produced limited results. The campaign changed after analysts identified a specific vulnerability inside refineries: a connecting node whose destruction can shut down an entire facility for weeks.

🎯 The UAV special unit Lasar’s Group of the National Guard of Ukraine reported a major increase in confirmed Russian equipment losses attributed to its operations. After the destruction of two additional enemy tanks, the total estimated value of Russian military hardware eliminated by the unit reached approximately 13 billion US dollars. These latest strikes added to an already extensive record built through sustained drone operations against armored vehicles, artillery systems, air defense assets, and logistics targets across multiple sectors of the front.
FP-2 Drone Strike Devastates Oil Depot in Occupied Rovenky

πŸ”₯ Fresh imagery from the aftermath of a Ukrainian FP-2 drone strike on an oil depot in the city of Rovenky, currently under Russian occupation, shows extensive and systematic destruction of fuel storage infrastructure. According to visual evidence, the majority of fuel tanks at the facility were either completely destroyed or suffered severe structural damage, with signs of large-scale fires and secondary explosions. Burned-out tank shells, collapsed roofing, and widespread scorch marks across the depot indicate that the strike achieved high accuracy and effective target engagement.

Nadiia from Odesa has taken in ten birds that were affected by an oil spill caused by a Russian attack. She responded to an appeal from the Odesa Zoo, where the birds had been receiving treatment.

On December 24, sunflower oil spilled into the sea near Odesa following the Russian attack.

According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, oil storage tanks were damaged during strikes on port infrastructure. The port remained under continuous shelling for several days, making it impossible to begin containment and cleanup efforts immediately.

Since the beginning of December, Russian forces have been attacking Odesa region almost daily, with ports among the targets.
