Spot this fast butterfly if you can! 💨

The Common Jay (Graphium doson evemonides) is a swift butterfly that's usually only identifiable when it pauses to rest, feed, or puddle on damp ground. 🦋

Look out for the dark-red coastal bar on the underside of its hindwing that sets it apart from other similar species like the Blue Jay! Its black wings are also marked with pale bluish macular bands and bluish-green submarginal spots that have a subtle shimmer.

Meet the flower featured on Singapore’s 10-cent coin issued in 1985! 👋

The Star Jasmine (Jasminum multiflorum) is known for its clusters of delicate, white flowers that thrive in full-sun conditions. While most Jasmines are famous for their scent, these flowers have a more subtle fragrance and are prized for their beauty over their scent.

No, I don't...
Here’s an interesting tree for International Plant Appreciation Day! The Angsana (Pterocarpus indicus) is one of the early trees planted along Singapore’s streetscapes. 🌳

Reaching heights of up to 40 m, the Angsana flourishes in Singapore’s climate and provides shade with its dense and drooping crown of compound leaves. It is also recognisable by its yellow flowers, and most of all, its flattened disc-shaped fruits with papery wings.

It might look like a sea creature or a clump of translucent jelly, but don't let its peculiar appearance fool you! ❄️

While many wild mushrooms are off-limits, the Snow Fungus (Tremella fuciformis) is known to have many medicinal benefits. It is used in Chinese traditional medicine to boost energy and immunity, and help with dry skin and coughs.

It is also commonly cooked in sweet soups with fruits such as pear or papaya. 🍐
