Out walking my dog today and came eye to eye with a lame fox, looked like a hind leg had been hit by a car. As I approached, keeping my dog on the lead, the fox limped into a nearby hedge. I followed the fox and peered into the hedge and it stared straight back at me with bright green eyes, a truly magical moment.

I came home and called the RSPCA to explain where the fox was, unfortunately they informed me that you had to actually be in sight of the wounded animal because too many man hours can be spent searching for animals that might have wandered off.

Just consider that for a second in an age when we're bombarded with messaging on how evil white people are. We are a people who create and fund institutions who go out in search parties looking for wounded animals in forests and on moors.

I can't help but get the impression something else is at play with the outpouring of grief after the Sarah Everard murder, by a white man.
