Phnom Penh: On Friday, January 2, 2026, H.E. Chhay Rithisen, Minister of Rural Development; Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia; and Honorary Chair of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia’s Working Group in the Rural Development Sector, presided over the receipt of donations from Beng Meng Group, which sponsored financial support in the amount of USD 3,000 to contribute to the charitable fund organized by the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia’s working group in the rural development sector, to be provided in support of the families of hero soldiers standing on the front line and Cambodian displaced persons who are temporarily staying at various safe locations during the recent armed clashes between Cambodian and Thai forces. In attendance on this occasion were the Permanent Secretary of State, Excellencies and Ladies in the Ministry’s leadership, as well as the Deputy Executive Chairwoman and members of the Cambodian Women for Peace and Development Association of the Ministry of Rural Development.
On this occasion, H.E. the Minister expressed profound gratitude for the charitable spirit of the Director General of Peng Meng Group, who personally donated funds to this charitable fund to help alleviate the hardships of the families of hero soldiers who have allowed their husbands and brothers to carry out missions on the front line in defense of the nation, motherland, and people as well as Cambodian displaced citizens. At the same time, H.E. the Minister stated that, as the Ministry’s leadership, he is extremely proud that, during this time when some Cambodian citizens are facing difficulties, leaders, civil servants, philanthropists from all directions, and many private companies have united in solidarity, demonstrating a spirit of national unity and single patriotism through various activities, including contributions of consumer goods, supplies, and funds, in response to the call of Cambodia’s top leaders, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, both of whom lead with principle, composure, and wisdom in all circumstances. H.E. further affirmed that the donations the Ministry has received recently have been delivered to all intended targets for direct distribution to hero soldiers, the families of hero soldiers, and displaced persons, both directly and through the Provincial Departments of Rural Development along the Cambodia–Thailand border, including Preah Vihear, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Siem Reap, Pursat, and Koh Kong provinces.

The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen and increase the efficiency of administrative work in order to proactively implement, in accordance with the Royal Government’s directives, the organization of national ceremonies and national and international days, as well as the various core tasks related to the Ministry of Rural Development. At the same time, H.E. the Minister instructed all units under the Ministry of Rural Development to continue striving with diligence to strengthen and enhance the quality and efficiency of work in a proactive, clear manner with a high sense of responsibility.
