π¬:The plot of Whiplash is my favorite one, and it practically mirrors my life from the ages of 10 to 16. The main character, Andrew Neiman, wants to be a great drummer and has been practicing at a music academy since childhood. However, the part that actually reflects my life and feels most relatable is his struggle to maintain relationships with his family (specifically his dad) and, most importantly, the girl he loves.
Later on, after enduring an insane amount of psychological pressure and pushes from his teacher, Fletcher, Neiman decides to openly end his romantic relationship with his girlfriend. He explicitly tells her, "I want to be a great drummer, and you are stopping me from being one."
Honestly, the truth I fortunately understood at an early ageβaround 11βwas that I needed to cut out distractions, including toxic friends, in order to achieve a more stable position in my life. Almost nobody reads this far, but I want to share something: as a kid, my ultimate "delusion" was wanting to become an astronaut. I even put three years of intense effort into learning English just so I could go to NASA one day. The movie perfectly reflects the same psychological phases I went through in my own life, which is probably why I always rewatch it whenever I feel lost.
Additionally, I really love how the filmmakers developed the musicianβs character as someone who isn't afraid to cry under Fletcher's pressure. The reason behind his tears is the high level of emotional intelligence and deep empathy he inherited from immersing himself in the world of music.

This was my third focused space movie after Interstellar and The Martian. To be honest, I watched it the moment it was released in 720p just because of Ryan Gosling (the Blade Runner guy). I believe the cinematography isn't the only thing that makes this movie so thrilling; I absolutely loved the color palette and the music used to convey the profound feeling of being lost in space (especially "Sign of the Times").
This movie will definitely make you fall in love with math, science, and, more importantly, engineering all over again. I got some honest opinions from my friends and acquaintances who said, "It somehow made me love doing science and engineering even more than before." I completely agree with how the creators romanticize astronomy and explore tougher fields like aerospace engineering. Despite the sheer complexity of science and math, Project Hail Mary makes it dramatically easier to understand where the future is heading. It is highly recommended if you are into engineering.

It feels like your typical sci-fi movie, but it's heavily hyped by Matt Damon and 20th Century Studios. The plot follows a group of four astronauts on an expedition to Mars. Like so many movies in this genre, Earth is in danger, and NASA sends a crew to save humanity once again.
The reason the movie is called The Martian comes down to a guy named Mark. During a harsh Martian hurricane, he fails to make it back to the spaceship on time due to blinding sandstorms and flying celestial debris. From there, the movie revolves around what it truly feels like to be completely alone on another planet with limited resources, while teaching the audience a few clever survival lifehacks along the way.

I donβt fully know why, but sometimes I feel drawn to stories where evil seems to win, or at least where people are forced to live inside systems built by cruelty and power. Itβs not always the exact same scenario, but something along those lines.
Movies like The Shawshank Redemption, Schindlerβs List, or Saving Private Ryan feel universal because they affect audiences across the world. Themes of oppression, inequality, and abuse of power are recognizable in many places and periods of history, even outside wartime and even in societies that saw themselves as more equal.
The movie Iβm talking about follows two little boys from completely different backgrounds and ethnic origins. One is the son of a high-ranking Nazi German officer, and the other is a Jewish boy. Both are very young (around five years old), and through their eyes we see completely different standards of life existing side by side in the same area.
It reminds me of places (Brazil,India, maybe idk)where extreme inequality exists close togetherβwhere one group lives in comfort while, only a short distance away, others struggle to survive.
Iβm not trying to disrespect the filmmakerβs work or spoil anything important. If youβre interested, just watch the movie yourself and see how it portrays life around concentration camps such as Auschwitz and the ways Nazi Germany persecuted and dehumanized Jewish people.
