The pack in the middle is always protected from attacks. The five behind them are also among the strongest. They are tasked to protect the back if there is an attack.
The very last in the picture is the leader. He makes sure that no one is left behind. He keeps the pack united, and on the same path. He is always ready to run in any direction to protect and serves as a "bodyguard" of the whole group.
Just in case someone wanted to know what it really means to be a leader. It's not about being on the front line. It means taking care of the family and the team.
