Just passed a little over $12,000 in Monthly Recurring Revenue.

I know this is not as amazing & impressive as many other people out there...

But for someone who used to struggle with self doubt, imposter syndrome, and entertained thoughts of giving up...

Seeing this makes me feel so freaking grateful.

Truthfully speaking, I know whenever I publish a post about my financial numbers or revenue, it opens the doors for many people to judge.

"Why is Marc always showing off?"
"The numbers are so small, why bother sharing?"
"So many years in business & this is all you got?"
"This is too good to be true."

I get it; I used to be very skeptical of such claims myself, and I am not saying it's possible for anyone.

The journey to do this wasn't easy; not so much about learning the right thing but actually implementing what I learnt.

And while the road to $50K/month continues...

I hope this inspire some folks reading about this:

That building a Lifestyle Business while enjoying your life (& doing real good in the world) is 100% possible.

That's what I was told from many experienced people & gurus as I embarked on my entreprenuership journey.

I admit for a period of time, I thought that to be true.

I concluded since I had to spend more time in business, I'd have less time for friends, and even when we met, it'd be harder to relate with each other...and there'll be conflict due to the differences in values too.

Because of that, I assumed my friends would also want to stop hanging out with me; maybe they thought I wouldn't care, I didn't treasure the friendship as much, etc.

But a few years ago, my coach asked me 2 questions:

When I first started my business, the part I hated the most was selling, specifically 1-1 calls.

It was so bad that when writing out the vision for my business a few years ago, the first thing I wrote down: "NO SALES CALLS!".

I'd even be secretly happy when prospects cancelled calls as it meant I could focus on content or clients instead😂

But today, not only do I enjoy 1-1 calls more than ever, I'm grateful to have generated $500K+ in sales w/o being an "expert"...because I found a "lazy" approach I actually enjoy.

And so, if you're someone who rather focus more on client success than selling all the time, here's the breakdown of what I do:

No matter how much you help people...

There'll always be some who will never appreciate what you do.

It's not your fault; it's just that sometimes people have been conditioned to think the worst of people (sometimes for years & decades), only focus on the imperfections, refuse to have open communication, and never acknowledge your support.

On a side note, as I was talking to friend last weekend, true friends are those who accept that not everything you do is perfect, but choose to have open communication & conversations...

Instead of suddenly ghosting & cutting communications out of nowhere.

Anyway, what I remind myself for this group of folks is to operate from grace & compassion.

It's likely they might had negative experiences in the past that made them behave that way.

It might feel hard at times but I'm grateful that I'd never approach things that way.

At the same time, it's also important to set boundaries so you don't waste your energy & time for people too.

Hahah anyway the “real” lesson for today:

Please remember, content doesn’t have to be “serious” or “strategic” all the time.

If you keep talking about a certain topic or style over & over again, sometimes people get bored.

Share funny stuff, quotes, 1-2 liner hacks or observations about something huge, something about your personal life, etc.

No one best way to do it. Mix it up & test it for yourself to see what aligns best! ⚡️
