Dafla hills


โ–ช๏ธLocation : Daphla (or Dafla) Hills is a tract of hilly country on the border of western Arunachal and Assam 

โ–ช๏ธIt is occupied by an independent tribe called Daphla.

โ–ช๏ธ It lies to the north of the Tezpur and North Lakhimpur subdivisions, and is bounded on the west by the Aka Hills and on the east by the Abor Range.

Blue Mountain

โ–ช๏ธPhawngpui, also known as Blue Mountain is the highest mountain peak in the Mizoram

โ–ช๏ธIt is located in Lawngtlai district, in the southeastern region of Mizoram near the Myanmar border.

โ–ช๏ธHighest point : Phunpi klang 7077 ft

โ–ช๏ธPhawngpui is the highest peak of the Lushai Hills

โ–ช๏ธNatural home of mountain goats. 

โ–ช๏ธ Since 1992 the mountain has been included in the protected area of the Phawngpui National Park, one of only two national parks of India in Mizoram

โ–ช๏ธThe area is encircled by matted bamboo groves and other alluring vegetations. There are varieties of butterflies, including some rare species found in this region.

Pir Panjal Range

โ–ช๏ธ The Pir Panjal Range, also Panchaladeva in Hindu scriptures, is a group of mountains in the Inner Himalayan region

โ–ช๏ธ Runs from east-southeast (ESE) to west-northwest (WNW) across the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh and Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the POK

โ–ช๏ธ Pir Panjal is the largest range of the Lesser Himalayas

โ–ช๏ธ Near the bank of the Sutlej river, it dissociates itself from the Himalayas and forms a divide between the rivers Beas and Ravi on one side and the Chenab on the other.

โ–ช๏ธ Deo Tibba (19,688 ft) and Indrasan (20,410 ft) are two important peaks at the eastern end of the mountain range.

โ–ช๏ธ Important passes :- Pir panjal pass, Rohtang la pass, Banihal pass

โ–ช๏ธ Important Tunnels :- Jawahar tunnel, Atal Tunnel

Palghat Gap:


โ–ช๏ธIt is a low mountain pass in the Western Ghats between Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and Palakkad in Kerala

โ–ช๏ธLocated between Nilgiri hills to the North and Anaimalai hills to the South

โ–ช๏ธ Average elevation: 140 m

โ–ช๏ธ Barathapuzha river originates from here

โ–ช๏ธ This gap allows the South West Monsoon winds to enter into western Tamil Nadu

โ–ช๏ธ It also allows the hot winds from Tamil Nadu which warm the eastern Kerala and the tropical cyclone winds from Bay of Bengal

Anaimudi peak

 is a mountain located in the Indian state of Kerala

โ–ช๏ธIt is the highest peak in the Western Ghats and South India, at an elevation of (8,842 ft).

Guru shikhar


โ–ช๏ธ Guru Shikhar, a peak in the Arbuda Mountains of Rajasthan, is the highest point of the Aravalli Range

โ–ช๏ธ Elevation : 5650 ft

โ–ช๏ธ It is named Guru-Shikhar or 'the peak of the guru' after Dattatreya, an incarnation of Vishnu, and a cave at the summit contains a temple dedicated to him, plus one dedicated his mother, Anasuya, wife of sage Atri nearby.

Nathu la pass

โ–ช๏ธNathu la is a mountain pass in the Himalayas in East Sikkim district, Sikkim, India

โ–ช๏ธIt connects the Indian state of Sikkim with China's Tibet Autonomous Region. 

โ–ช๏ธThe pass, at 14,140 ft,  forms a part of an offshoot of the ancient Tea Horse Road.

โ–ช๏ธ It is also one of the five officially agreed Border Personnel Meeting points between the Indian Army and the People's Liberation Army of China for regular consultations and interactions between the two armies to improve relations.

Bhor Ghat


โ–ช๏ธ Bhor Ghat or Bor Ghat, is a mountain passage located between Palasdari and Khandala  in Maharashtra, India, situated on the crest of the Western Ghats.

โ–ช๏ธ Range : Sahyadri

โ–ช๏ธ Elevation : 2014 ft

โ–ช๏ธ Borghat was the site of a battle between the Maratha Empire centered in Pune and the British East India Company in Bombay.

โ–ช๏ธ In the battle that ensued, the Marathas inflicted a crushing defeat on the British in what would be known as the Battle of Borghat

Mahendragiri


โ–ช๏ธMahendragiri, is a mountain peak in the district of Gajapati, Odisha, India. 

โ–ช๏ธ It is situated amongst the Eastern Ghats at an elevation of 1,501 metres (4,925 ft).

โ–ช๏ธ Mahendragiri is associated with the Ramayana as Mahendra Parvata (mountain).

โ–ช๏ธ In the Puranas and Ramayana It is said that Parashurama was meditating on Mahendragiri when Lord Rama broke the sacred bow of Shiva.

โ–ช๏ธ Legend says that it is the place where Lord Parashurama, a chiranjeevi stays eternally and performs tapas

Namcha Barwa

โ–ช๏ธNamcha Barwa or Namchabarwa 
is a mountain peak in the Tibetan Himalaya

โ–ช๏ธ The traditional definition of the Himalaya extending from the Indus River to the Brahmaputra would make it the eastern anchor of the entire mountain chain, and it is the highest peak 

โ–ช๏ธ It stands inside the Great Bend of the Yarlung Tsangpo River as the river enters its notable gorge across the Himalaya, emerging as the Siang river and becoming the Brahmaputra river.
