There is growing confidence at #ManCity that a deal can be struck for Koulibaly. [Fabrizio Romano]
Man City are ahead in the negotiations for Kalidou Koulibaly. PSG have surveyed the defender, but they are currently warmer on Inter Milan's Skriniar, as he is a less expensive option.

Koulibaly is happy in Naples, where he is the highest paid player. He is very happy with his teammates.

The desire to try a new challenge pushed him to talk to Man City. But, if he were to stay at Napoli, he wouldn't have any issues.

Man City prepare new Koulibaly bid

Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Manchester City are ready to submit a new bid for centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly. The saga of the great Napoli defender's future seems to be on the verge of coming to an end, and that end could well take him from Serie A to the Premier League.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis hasn't been afraid to put forward his thoughts on how negotiations are going, and City are set to react to that. The offer will be in the range of at least €75 million as Pep Guardiola aims to edge ahead of rivals Manchester United in this particular transfer race.

Kalidou Koulibaly is Manchester City's top transfer target this summer and his agent has reportedly traveled to Manchester.

Fali Ramadami, the agent of Kalidou Koulibaly, has reportedly travelled to Manchester to negotiate a transfer to Manchester City.

Aurelio De Laurentiis, the club's president, has repeatedly spoken about the potential transfer in the press in recent weeks and suggested in his latest tirade that negotiations haven't been normal because there is bad blood between the club's following the collapsed deal to sign Jorginho two years ago.

"If Manchester City maintain that they cannot speak with us [directly] because of the problem with Jorginho," he said on Thursday, "how can we have a normal and calm negotiation for the sale of a player?"

As a result, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via SportWitness, Koulibaly's agent is acting as an intermediary for the two clubs during talks and is now in Manchester to hear an offer from City for the 29-year-old.

It's claimed that Ramadami will then travel to Capri early next week to visit De Laurentiis and relay him the club's offer, after which a decision on the move will be made.

Man City see Β£62m transfer bid plus bonuses for Chelsea target Jose Gimenez rejected by Atletico Madrid

MANCHESTER CITY had a Β£62million bid for Chelsea target Jose Gimenez rejected by Atletico Madrid, according to reports.

Pep Guardiola's side are still thought to be on the hunt for another new centre-back this summer.

Jose Gimenez was the subject of a Β£62m bid from Manchester City but Atletico Madrid rejected the offer Credit.

But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Alfredo Pedulla , their approach for Gimenez was snubbed.

It is thought City offered an initial Β£62m for the Uruguayan defender, 25, but with added bonuses.

However, Atleti are keen to keep their star defender who is the third captain behind Koke and Jan Oblak.

The Etihad club are hoping to bolster their defensive options despite already spending Β£40m on Nathan Ake with Eric Garcia set to quit next summer.

Kalidou Koulibaly remains a target - and would cost around the same as Gimenez - but negotiations with Napoli are proving difficult due to the clubs' strained relationship following the Jorginho saga in 2018.
