A data scientist and nature lover, Max Fun chose his home in the one-north district due to its proximity to his workplace at Biopolis. He soon discovered the nearby #onenorthPark - a beautiful 16-hectare green oasis set amidst the many high-rise offices in the area, which serves as an integrated green link and provides shared community spaces for park-goers and residents to enjoy 🌿

Besides making use of the naturally shaded walkways on his commute to his office, Max enjoys his weekly jogs around the park, or simply strolling along the boardwalk (it’s a 10-minute run to the Rail Corridor!), which he says makes him feel like he's "in a totally different world".

The open lawns and magnificent trees and shrubs provide a welcome retreat whenever Max wants to take a break from work. He adds that it's such a treat to walk through the park and be able to spot interesting birds, squirrels and other wildlife on these little journeys.

Happy 22/02/2022!

Today’s date is a palindrome, which means it reads the same backwards as it does forward – making it a mirror image of itself!

Hence, we’re marking this day with a photo of the reflection of waters at MacRitchie Reservoir at dawn.

You’ve heard of the Fantastic 4. Now hear about the ‘Smiling 5’ and their Yesterday Once More project — nostalgic trick-eye murals that have enlivened the 857A Tampines Central void deck.

Part of the Lively Places Programme, a joint initiative by HDB and URA to support community-led efforts in enlivening public spaces, the murals feature popular games from kampung days, such as chapteh and hide-and-seek.

Today, the games continue to bring the community together through these murals, and act as a physical playground for the young and old!

Inspired by the Smiling 5’s story? You can start your own project by visiting https://go.gov.sg/hdb-lively-places-programme

Stay tuned for more from our new #MyHouseDownstairs series, as we highlight interesting community projects happening near your home.
