HDB will set aside 800 more flats for rental under the Parenthood Provisional Housing Scheme (PPHS) over the next two years, almost doubling the existing 840 flats under the scheme.
This will better support families in need of temporary housing while they await the completion of their new flats.
From 4 August, a household income ceiling of $7,000 will be introduced for the application of PPHS flats, to ensure that the flats are allocated to those who are less able to afford renting a flat on the open market.

Two new species of flies were discovered in the Pulau Ubin mangroves!
One of these, a new genus of Sepsid fly (pictured), was found in the mangroves of Sungei Teris.
The other species – the Long-Legged Fly (Trigonocera ubinensis), is a predatory insect and bio-controller that feeds on other smaller insects like sandflies and midges. It’s named after Pulau Ubin!
These new findings underscore the rich biodiversity and natural heritage in Pulau Ubin. That’s pretty fly, isn’t it!
