Poland recorded significant overcapacity in manufacturing industry, BIP reported.

The country's key industries are experiencing a huge shortage of orders.

The biggest problems are observed in sectors: leather and fur processing (73.3%), coke and fuel production and energy (73.6%) and metallurgical industry (73.7%).

One of the main problems is energy prices. And also products getting more expensive to produce due to the payment for CO2 emission rights (now the highest in the EU).

In addition, with declining household incomes and high inflation, fuel sales fell by 15% in the first half of the year, and in June they were down 8.3% year-on-year.

So, due to the combination of these, companies are preparing to lay off employees and cut costs in every way possible.
