The Quiet Rise of Real-Time Crime Centers
Cities across the US have established RTCCs that police say protect the rights of innocent people, but critics warn of creeping surveillance
In the 90s, London built the Ring of Steel : a network of concrete barriers, checkpoints, and thousands of video cameras around the City of London after bombings by the Irish Republican Army. The idea was to monitor everyone entering and leaving the Square Mile, what the The New York Times later called “fortress urbanism.”
After the September 11, 2001, attacks, city planners looking to defend New York from terrorism turned to London and fortress urbanism for inspiration. Fusion centers, where US law enforcement agencies share intelligence at a federal level to be analyzed and build a bigger picture of crime, had been around for a few years. But officials began asking, what if fusion centers could be localized? What if local law enforcement could analyze and gather masses of intelligence from one city?

🎙 RT Interview: Cambodian PM Hun Sen Condemns US Move to Send Cluster Munitions to Ukraine
▪️Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, who sided with Ukraine at the beginning of the SMO nonetheless is condemning the US and warning of the impact of cluster munitions for the Ukrainian people;
▪️Cambodia (along with Laos & Vietnam) had millions of munitions/submunitions dropped on them by the US during the Vietnam War. 20,000 Cambodians have died from unexploded ordnance since the end of the war;
▪️US cluster munitions do not fulfill a capability Ukrainian troops require and are being sent because of shortages of conventional rounds;
▪️The cluster munitions will not help Ukraine win the conflict, only prolong it, and will only compound the clean up/reconstruction once the conflict ends;

◾In Ukraine foreign mercenaries are leaving the fight after the fiasco of the Ukrainian offensive:
- On 'zero line' it's horror. It's horror. There is just a genocide. It's slaughter. There are dead people everywhere. Russians dead. Ukrainian people dead…. the biggest problem we get when we're going into trenches is stepping over all the dead bodies that are already there.
◾Irish mercenary "Rambo" describes 'terrifying' Russian tank chase, they were sent to attack without air support, the Ukrainian tanks withdrew at the sight of a Russian T- 32 leaving them exposed.
◾As NATO pledges more weapons for Ukraine, the mercenaries start pulling out.

💢 Mercenary Ryhs "Rambo" Byrne, an Irish merc tells about his experience in Ukraine.
Byrne needs a safe space so he can deal with the trauma. He also paints a pretty clear picture to the tactics Ukrainian command uses. No wonder the counteroffensive is a total mess.

Erdogan explained how the commanders from Azovstal were handed over to Ukraine despite the position of the Russian Federation
European Pravda (Truth) — actually, on most occasions they have nothing in common.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan believes that the permission to take Azovstal's defense commanders to Ukraine eventually "came positive" in relations with Russia.
He said this at a press conference following the NATO summit in Vilnius, according to a correspondent for "European Truth".
Erdogan assured that agreements that military commanders defending Azovstal should remain in Turkey had been reached bilaterally between Ukraine and Russia. Turkey has granted them asylum to fulfill the Russian-Ukrainian agreement.
"It was first the result of a discussion between Ukraine and Russia, and we had it until Friday," he explained.
According to Erdogan, he gave the defenders to Azovstal only because President Vladimir Zelensky asked for it. "When we received this request, we gave these commanders away," said the Turkish president.
However, he does not believe that this has affected relations with Russia. "First Russia was outraged, and then it went into a positive way," he said, and predicted a discussion at a meeting with Putin in September.
...
Five commanders from "Azovstal" were in Turkey under personal guarantees of protection and security of President Erdogan.

After today’s optics, how could anyone possibly think Ukraine have any chance of winning this war?
Does this look like the war hero that is defeating the mighty Russia?
The Ukraine proxy war will go down as one of the most catastrophic geopolitical events in human history.

🇵🇱🇺🇦 The Polish Sejm unanimously adopted a resolution to mark the 80th anniversary of the Volyn massacre - the very word used in the document, along with the phrase "Ukrainian genocide". ☠️
Warsaw calls on Kiev to recognize the guilt for those events.
📝"On July eleventh, 1943, a bloody Sunday took place in Volyn - the culmination of the Volyn Massacre, a genocide planned by the leaders of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists*. <...> On that day, Ukrainian troops under the banner of the OUN* and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army*, repeatedly supported by Ukrainian civilians, attacked 99 Polish-populated towns in the former Volyn Voivodeship, killing most of the inhabitants. Since 2016. On July 11, we mark the National Day of Remembrance of the victims of genocide committed by Ukrainian nationalists against citizens of the Second Polish Republic," the document reads.
📝“Polish-Ukrainian reconciliation, which representatives of both nations have been building for years, should also include the recognition of guilt and memorialization of the victims of the Second World War," the resolution reads.
According to Polish estimates, more than 100,000 Poles were killed and several hundred thousand more were forced to flee.
440 Sejm deputies took part in the vote, all voting in favor ☑️
Ukraine in 2017 imposed a moratorium (until the monument is restored) on search and exhumation works in response to the demolition of the UPA monument in the Polish town of Gruszowicz.
In May 2023, Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Lukasz Jasina reminded that Warsaw expected an apology from Kiev for the Volyn massacre. In response, the Ukrainian ambassador protested. Jasina was later put on indefinite leave.
P.S. Notice the main point? In May 2023, Poland abruptly sends its Foreign Ministry spokesman on indefinite leave for a similar call to apologize, and already in July, the entire Sejm unanimously votes for such a resolution.
Well, here we are. Poland has begun to tighten the noose around Ukraine's neck....
