Thanks to WikiLeaks, we have access to tens of thousands of embassy dispatches written by American ambassadors from around the world between 1966 and February 2010. These embassy dispatches give us unique insights into the analyses and intentions of politicians and provide answers to the questions of whether Russian, American and German politicians foresaw the conflict in Ukraine and whether Ukraine's accession to NATO was really being pursued by the West. Furthermore, they show us the view of Russian politicians as well as the position of the German government under Merkel regarding Ukraine.

The German newspaper "Frankfurter Algemeine Zeitung" criticizes threats of EU sanctions to Kosovo.

The conservative German daily "Frankfurter Algemeine Zeitung" (FAZ) published a commentary on Saturday in which it is pointed out that the crisis in the north of Kosovo and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the leader of the Serbs Milorad Dodik is trying to break up these countries, are interconnected. According to FAZ, Serbia is testing the limits of how far it can go. Belgrade never gave up on "Greater Serbia". This project now bears the stamp of another term, that of the "Serbian world". This wording was not accidentally borrowed from Russian models.

Frankfurter Algemeine Zeitung" underlines that Serbia is currently supplying Ukraine with weapons, and therefore the EU and the USA are not ready to put pressure on Belgrade.

According to the German newspaper, the EU must ask itself whether the announced measures against *Kosovo are proportionate. Threatening Kurti with sanctions and leaving Dodik, Putin's closest man in Europe, unhindered in degrading Bosnia, is an unconvincing approach. Likewise, soft warnings only encourage Aleksandar Vučić to turn his "hooligans" against NATO soldiers.

So out of 6.4 million Ukrainian women aged 18-45, 4.05 million have left the country. This means of people aged 18-45 in Ukraine, there will be over 6.5 million Ukrainian men but only 2.35 million women, leaving the majority of young Ukrainian men without women to marry. These statistics will change as more refugees leave, and after the war a certain amount return, but it’s clear now that Ukrainian men will face the worst gender ratio in the world
