Economic #sanctions imposed on #Russia and other countries by the United States put the #dollar’s dominance at risk as targeted nations seek out an alternative, Yellen said Sunday.
“There is a risk when we use financial sanctions that are linked to the role of the dollar that over time it could undermine the hegemony of the dollar,” #Yellen said on CNN.
“Of course, it does create a desire on the part of #China, of #Russia, of #Iran to find an alternative,” she told the network’s Fareed Zakaria in an interview.
“But the dollar is used as a global currency for reasons that are not easy for other countries to find an alternative with the same properties.”

REPUBLICAN-CONTROLLED HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES PASSES BILL TO BAR TRANS ATHLETES FROM GIRLS AND WOMEN'S TEAMS
The #Republican-led House passed a bill Thursday that would bar schools and colleges that receive federal money from allowingtransgender athletes whose biological sex assigned at birth was males to compete on girls or women's sports teams or athletic events.
The legislation, known as the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, was approved by a party-line vote of 219 to 203.
It's unlikely to advance further, since the Democratic-led Senate will not support it and the White House said President Biden would veto it.

There is a difference between a #Glide and a #GuidedBomb.
• A guided bomb is directed to its target from the cockpit of the aircraft releasing it. The bomb is steerable.
• A glide bomb differs in that it is released and glides to its target. While it can be controlled by a pilot or copilot, more typically it operates autonomously once it is released.
The #US has supplied #Ukraine with two different types of glide bombs:
• The GLSDB (ground-launched small diameter bomb) produced by Boeing and #Saab (Sweden), and
• The JDAM-ER (joint direct attack munition-extended range), made by #Boeing.
Russia has two types of precision bombs:
• The Grom E2, which has seen mechanical or electronic faults, and
• The UPAB-1500B-E, is effective and reliable. Ukraine has not been able to jam or shoot down #UPAB bombs.
The US weapons have not been effective and have been intercepted by the Russians.

🌐💵 The dollar’s share in global reserves decreased in 2022 at 10 times the average rate of the past two decades. A number of smaller nations, like Brazil, are experimenting with de-dollarization while China and India are pushing to internationalize their currencies for trade settlement.
After the West cut Russian banks from the global financial system known as SWIFT, concerns were raised that the dollar may become a political tool to place pressure on countries to comply with the US regime. France is even calling for the EU to become less reliant on the US and to diversify away from the dollar.
These are things that have simply never happened before. It’s a new world that is forming.

The pilot had to simulate the accident to the dispatchers. Kiev would announce his capture, and the Russian and his family would receive money and new documents.
▪️At the agreed time that morning, instead of planes, Russian rockets flew to Knatovo airport near Kropivnjitskyi, destroying 2 fighters, killing the commander of a military unit and wounding 17 soldiers, the runway, other equipment and facilities were significantly damaged.
▪️According to the SBU, Russian special services "led" this operation from the very beginning, telling the pilot to fake consent to the hijacking.
