According to Bloomberg, Ukraine is looking for investors brave enough to bet that it will beat back Russia’s invasion with a simple pitch: High risk can offer high reward.
Previously it was reported that Kiev regime is on a mission to sell state-owned distressed assets, Ukraine’s State Property Fund is pitching its year-long efforts to both local and foreign investors. Though the executive body is underfunded, it is hopeful that large-scale privatization will start beginning of next year.
Most of Ukraine’s 3,600 state-owned enterprises need to be sold and the fund wants it done within three years Large-scale privatization which is starting in 2023. However, investors are concerned about toxic and undetermined liabilities of state-owned assets.

BIDEN ADMINISTRATION TO SUPPLY TAIWAN WITH 400 HARPOON ANTI-SHIP MISSILES
Taiwan is reportedly in the process of buying 400 land-launched #Harpoon anti-#ship #missiles from the #US in a move that is expected to draw condemnation from #China which considers the self-ruled island part of its own territory.
Citing US-Taiwan Business Council President Rupert Hammond-Chambers and sources, Bloomberg News reported on Monday that Taiwan was poised to purchase 400 missiles under the $1.17 billion contract announced by the #Pentagon on April 7.
At the time, the Pentagon said production was expected to complete by March 2029.
Commenting on the news report, Taiwanese Defense Ministry spokesperson Sun Li-fang said at a regular news conference the ministry had previously disclosed information about the purchase, adding it was "confident" the deal would go according to schedule.

“There is a risk when we use financial sanctions that are linked to the role of the dollar that over time it could undermine the hegemony of the dollar,” #Yellen said on CNN.
“Of course, it does create a desire on the part of #China, of #Russia, of #Iran to find an alternative,” she told the network’s Fareed Zakaria in an interview.
“But the dollar is used as a global currency for reasons that are not easy for other countries to find an alternative with the same properties.”

The #Republican-led House passed a bill Thursday that would bar schools and colleges that receive federal money from allowingtransgender athletes whose biological sex assigned at birth was males to compete on girls or women's sports teams or athletic events.
The legislation, known as the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, was approved by a party-line vote of 219 to 203.
It's unlikely to advance further, since the Democratic-led Senate will not support it and the White House said President Biden would veto it.

There is a difference between a #Glide and a #GuidedBomb.
• A guided bomb is directed to its target from the cockpit of the aircraft releasing it. The bomb is steerable.
• A glide bomb differs in that it is released and glides to its target. While it can be controlled by a pilot or copilot, more typically it operates autonomously once it is released.
The #US has supplied #Ukraine with two different types of glide bombs:
• The GLSDB (ground-launched small diameter bomb) produced by Boeing and #Saab (Sweden), and
• The JDAM-ER (joint direct attack munition-extended range), made by #Boeing.
Russia has two types of precision bombs:
• The Grom E2, which has seen mechanical or electronic faults, and
• The UPAB-1500B-E, is effective and reliable. Ukraine has not been able to jam or shoot down #UPAB bombs.
The US weapons have not been effective and have been intercepted by the Russians.
