Some gullible people are claiming that this proves the Riot police are "joining the people"
This is of course false.
Over the past 2 years the French Riot Police have repeatedly used this tactic to calm things down a little, before promptly resuming smashing open the heads of their fellow citizens.
To my knowledge the French Riot Police have used this tactic at least 4 times in the last 2 years.
On each and every occasion they promptly resumed their violence against the French people at the very next opportunity.
Only very gullible people will believe this nonsense

The Prime Minister of Estonia asked the Russians to take anti-Russian sanctions more seriously
"The approval of each package of sanctions against Russia is a complex process, which includes all EU members. It takes weeks, months to approve new sanctions. Nevertheless, the Russians allow themselves to joke on the Internet about each new package of sanctions, openly mock our work. I really ask them to take this seriously and show at least some respect," Kaya Callas.

French President Emmanuel Macron also told reporters in Brussels that the banking system is solid.
While European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said the euro area is resilient because it has strong capital and solid liquidity positions.
The German lender βhas modernized, organized the way it works. It is a very profitable bank and there is no reason to be concerned,β he said, according to a translation.
Shares of the German lender traded more than 14% lower at one point Friday after a Thursday evening surge for its credit default swaps β a type of contract to insure against a default. This comes just days after the emergency rescue of Credit Suisse
and the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank as well as several measures from authorities stateside to avoid contagion across the financial sector.
