First year or the Russia-Ukrainian war is almost over
Part 2 (in Part 1 we were analysing the changes in informational warfare)

Almost a year has passed since the beginning of the Special Military Operation. What has changed on the battlefield?

Until now strategical military initiative remains in hands of US and NATO. After the first assault (which was not successful, now there is no secret in admitting it), decisions on what to do, what weapons to supply, where to strike (from HIMARS or anything else), were made in the NATO headquarters. Gradually the tactical initiative was overtaken, first in defence, and recently in slow and hard offensive operations. The commander of the Vostok battalion in the DPR Ministry of Internal Affairs, Alexander Khodakovsky (aka“Skif) explains what determines the tactics of the Russian Army.

Even now USA are dictating what will happen next and are determining the time-line of the future events. The vague promises to supply tanks, fighter jets or long range missiles are just tools of manipulation. And the aim is to push Russia to go for a new bloody offensive now, because in several months it would be even more difficult as the new weapons and trained Ukrainian crews will arrive. Or will they? It doesn't matter. Decisions should be made now. Russia does not need those bloody offensives, they mean losses and even losses among AFU are not what Russia needs, because each killed Ukrainian soldier mean that there will be more people in Ukraine hating Russia and ready for vengeance.

Economic situation in Russia is generally stable, while Ukrainian economy doesn't exist anymore. Time is working for Russia, because with every month Ukraine is becoming a heavier burden for the collective West to maintain. Economic war has been won by Russia. Only one thing may spoil it. It is a social unrest, caused by heavy losses at the front. That is why US-led coalition continues to provoke Russia for unnecessary offensive.

More over, Russian army needs more time to learn and to prepare for a decisive battle. That is a normal situation for any army, that has not been fighting for real for decades. Those, who can read Russian, could have seen many angry articles about what is wrong with the Russian regular army published in the most patriotic pro-Russian channels.

I have got some close contacts with military and used to serve in the Soviet Army myself. Most of the ordinary Army units in the USSR were not battle-ready. Certainly, the "strategic triad" was prepared and could destroy the entire world. The Airborne troops and Marines were supposed to solve any problem. Thought I remember, how a MANPAD launched by a representative of a renowned Airborne division hit the birch grove during a "competition" in Central Military Region in late 80s. Overall, then out of a dozen of launches were registered only two hits, and only one of them was a direct one (performed by your humble #TransFormator). Most of the ordinary army regiments were poorly equipped, even worse trained. The logic behind it was simple — if there would be a war it would be a nuclear war... So, who cares... Similar things are happening in Germany, there is also a very revealing letter from a French officer.

I hoped that all of this has been lost in time with the Soviet Union and that the modern Russian army, consisting of professionals on the contracts is completely different. Well, different — yes, but completely — no. It has inherited many issues from those long gone days.

The Germans are getting very desperate and #BILD is being very irresponsible in publishing this obvious nonsense.

The German Government is clearly very worried about a lack of support amongst the German populace, for escalating this war any further.

The intention seems to be to convince the German populace that any obvious and completely rational fears they may have, that German efforts to involve itself further in the war in #Ukraine might result in a Russian attack on German Armed Forces or even result in #NuclearWar, are unfounded.

So the #LügenPresse BILD (#AxelSpringer Verlag) decided to just flat out #lie and tell its readers:

"Hey, don't worry about Nuclear war, because the #Putin hasn't got any Nukes anyway!"

He’s spending money on people. Now that inflation is under control they’ve created new programs in support of private enterprises, families, education, and healthcare. Putin just announced in his speech that residence of Novorussia (new citizens of Russia) would get back payments for all the social perks since 2007.

Russia And China Draw ‘Red Lines’ On Their Borders; US Draws Them On The Other Side Of The Planet

Reacting to China’s announcement that it will be putting forward a proposal for a political settlement to end the #war in #Ukraine, the US ambassador to the UN said that if #China begins arming #Russia in that conflict this will be a “#RedLine” for the #US.

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield told CNN on Sunday:

"We welcome the Chinese announcement that they want peace because that’s what we always want to pursue in situations like this.

But we also have to be clear that if there are any thoughts and efforts by the Chinese and others to provide lethal support to the Russians in their brutal attack against Ukraine, that that is unacceptable.

That would be a red line."

The ambassador’s comments pertained to an unsubstantiated claim made by Sec State Antony Blinken on Sunday that according to US intelligence, China is “considering providing lethal support to Russia in the war against Ukraine.”

The US has been making evidence-free claims in relation to China arming Russia against Ukraine since the war began.

In March of last year the NYT reported:

Russia asked China to give it military equipment and support for the war in Ukraine after President Putin began a full-scale invasion last month, according to US officials.

Then in April of last year NBC reported that this claim “lacked hard evidence” and was essentially just a lie the US government told the media “as part of an information war against Russia.”

The mass media have eagerly participated in promoting this latest re-emergence of narratives about China supplying weapons to Russia, with the WSJ running a piece just the other day titled “Chinese Drones Still Support Russia’s War in Ukraine, Trade Data Show.”

But as commentator Matthew Petti has observed, buried deep in that article is an acknowledgement that these China-made camera drones aren’t even coming from China; they’re being purchased by Russian middlemen in nations like the UAE.

Really it’s just a story about how China manufactures a lot of products, disguised as something scandalous.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang #Wenbin knocked back Blinken’s claims at a press conference shortly after they were made, saying the US is in no position to be accusing anyone of pouring arms into the war. He said:

"It is the US, not China, that has been pouring weapons into the battlefield.

The US is in no position to tell China what to do.

We would never stand for finger-pointing, or even coercion and pressurizing from the US on our relations with Russia"

"We are accustomed to the fact that our American colleagues put themselves above the law, claiming that they are the law"

Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya spoke at a meeting of the Security Council on the terrorist attack on the Nord Streams. What the representative of Russia said:

▪️The reputation of the journalist Hersh does not allow doubting his conclusions about sabotage. The motive, perpetrator and method of committing the crime are beyond doubt.

▪️The countries that are behind the blowing up of the gas pipeline will have to compensate Russia for the damage caused.

▪️The first round of consultations on the Russian resolution showed that the West is not interested in an objective investigation.

▪️The investigation of Germany, Denmark and Sweden on this terrorist attack is aimed only at shielding the United States and covering their tracks. Russia was not invited to it.

Poland installs anti-tank hedgehogs on roads from Belarus and Russia

WARSAW, February 23 — RIA Novosti. The Polish military is installing anti-tank hedgehogs on the roads leading from Belarus and Russia, said the Minister of National Defence of the country, Mariusz Blaszczak.
“We have begun a preventive strengthening of security on the border with Russia and Belarus. This is part of our defence and deterrence strategy. The first fortifications are already being deployed on the border with the Kaliningrad region,” he wrote.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the European economy over the past year has been weakened by the fact that Brussels has constantly defended the interests of the administration of US President Joe Biden, and not the EU itself

He spoke about this at a closed meeting with deputies of the Hungarian parliament from the Fidesz-Christian Democratic People's Party (PPCD) alliance, the newspaper Magyar Nemzet reports.

According to the prime minister: "Europe has weakened over the past year because the Biden administration is enforcing its interests indefinitely in Brussels at the expense of European interests. Responses to war, the sanctions tsunami, began to weaken the European economy, while America, rich in cheap energy, is not affected,” the message says.

Orban also noted that "the military power of Europe began to weaken, because the war reduced the stocks of European armies, and they were not bothered to replace them."

Thus, "in just a year, Europe lost its independence, economic and military power."

The Hungarian Prime Minister, by tradition, before the start of the parliamentary session, outlined before the deputies the opponents of the Fidesz-PPCD alliance, whom he called "the Biden administration, pro-war Brussels bureaucrats and pro-war politicians", that is, those "international interest groups" that are "on the side of the war" .

Hungary itself, according to Orban, “must defend its independence, which means defending a peace-loving position against the Biden and Brussels administrations”, “wage war against inflation” and “strengthen Hungary’s military power, because peace needs strength.” Then Hungary will be able to emerge from the crisis period "unscathed and strengthened."

Earlier, Orban said that Europe is losing by refusing Russian energy sources in favour of American ones, since it is forced to overpay for them by 5-10 times.

According to him, Europe should ask "American friends" questions about who wins in this situation.

Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament Laszlo Kever said earlier that the European Union can already be called the loser in the Ukrainian crisis, as it acts contrary to its own economic interests. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said earlier that the US is the beneficiary of the recession in Europe.
