Since #Patriot Missile systems are essentially useless as a modern #AirDefence system most people would be tempted to answer "No!" to the question posed above:

"Will US Patriot missiles really be a game changer in Ukraine?"

However:

While it's fun to dump on the Patriot missile system it would be wise to remember that the Patriot is a mobile missile launch system.

#Missiles and #Warheads are relatively easy to swapout.

So the #US could place a missile launch system, under their control, operated by their own crews, minutes flight time from #Moscow.

The #Ukraine is a big country and those mobile missile launchers can easily hide.

If the US had tried this last January it would have a political shitstorm  but today it's "just another escalation in the Ukraine war."

Since February they've had Russian speaking special forces infiltrate Russia.

US satellites overhead and #NATO surveillance aircraft skirting Russia's borders.

Now add Nuke missiles in Ukraine, under direct US control

Just sayin'.🤷‍♂

🇩🇪🇷🇺❄️ Germans are coming to Kaliningrad to winter over high housing and utility prices

Kaliningrad regional governor Anton Alikhanov said:

"We had a conversation with a particular German. We asked what are you doing here, and he said - and we are coming to you to winter".

😏 Renting a flat and paying utility bills for four months in Kaliningrad is like one in Dusseldorf, Germany.

#US DEMOCRATIC PARTY REPRESENTATIVE FOR CALIFORNIA SAYS THAT THE WORD "#PEDOPHILE" IS "DISCRIMINATORY"

Rep. Katie #Porter (D-CA) says that the terms "groomer and pedophile allege that a person is criminal somehow merely because of their sexual orientation and #gender identity"

She will probably deny it, but she appears to be claiming that Pedophilia is merely a "sexual orientation".

#USA The F-35B Lightning II fifth-generation fighter incident at Air Force Base in Texas

An abnormal situation occurred while performing a vertical landing. The pilot ejected, although there was no apparent reason for this.

#TransFormatorBuzzes 💤 :
It is already the second occasion recently of the forward wheel of of the undercarriage "folding in". Something is certainly wrong with this aircraft. As for the ejection, there was a recent footage of Russian Su-25 landing without any undercarriage at all. The pilot risked his life to save the aircraft.

MASSIVE INCREASE IN GREENLAND SURFACE ICE SHEET SUGGESTS POSSIBLE OVERALL GAIN IN 2022

#Greenland gains ice from September to around June each year.

Surface losses therefore only occur during the short summer, and this year that season was cold and snowy.

The summer was said to have been brought to a stop in mid-August with a 20 billion-tonne snow dump on the south of the island.

According to a report on the Electroverse website, this summer chimed with recent years and was characterised by “several monstrous, record-smashing snowfall events”.

Fresh snow is noted to reflect sunlight better, and as a result the onset of melting on the ice sheet was two-and-a-half weeks later than normal.

None of this was particularly unusual.

It’s called
#weather.

A couple of thousand miles to the east, the U.K. had a pleasant and at times hot summer.

Two days were very hot, causing a feverish Piers Morgan to tell his TV audience that “we are heading for an apocalypse”. It is also called weather.

Ursula Von den Leyen: "The Commission is ready to mobilize 30 million euros to send about 30 million LED bulbs because in these times of suffering and darkness it is important to bring light to Ukraine. LED bulbs save 88 percent of the energy required for other types of lighting" Along with the LED bulbs they will also send 30 million Uncle Festers to whom they put the bulbs in their mouths to make them light up.

WALL STREET JOURNAL SLAMS GERMAN MIGRATION POLICY, POINTS TO TERRIBLE UNEMPLOYMENT SITUATION

Since 2015, more than 13 million #migrants have arrived in #Germany, yet German companies continue to struggle to find suitable workers

December 15, 2022

The paper raises the question of the “paradoxical” situation regarding why Germany continues to lack so many workers despite taking in nearly 13 million people since 2015, citing data from the Federal Statistical Office.

The problem, the paper notes, is that the migrants who are coming are simply not filling the needs of Germany’s high-skill economy.

Of the 800,000 working-age Syrians and Afghans who arrived during the 2015 migrant crisis, only a third of them actually have a tax-paying job.

#Unemployment among foreigners stands at 12 percent, while for Germans it is 5 percent, and as Remix News has also reported in the past, those migrants who are working often work in low-skilled and low-paying jobs that require the state to continue paying out welfare benefits.

“Many refugees are ill-suited for the German high-skilled labor market,” the paper writes, and Germany is also “not good at training them.”

I can’t stop laughing at this hilarious New York Times article on Why It’s Time to Wear A Mask Again.

The generally excellent Vinay Prasad already caught them citing as “strong evidence” for mask efficacy, this study, which fails to find that masks have any significant effect on rates of influenza infection.

Just link to anything and hope nobody notices, NYTimes bros.

The poor pandemic faithful started out masking to save the lives of the elderly and vulnerable, but now they find themselves in an unending hygiene prison from which the only escape, is admitting that they’ve behaved like fools for the past three years.

If they can’t do that, a bleak future awaits them, of persisting as the solitary idiotic masker in the grocery store and on the train, of demanding all their acquaintances produce negative tests before they’re allowed to come to any party, and, above all, of never being able to relax around other people.

How living like this is better than occasional virus infections, nobody can explain.

December 17th, 2022

#Japan on Friday unveiled its biggest military build-up since World War Two with a $320 billion plan that will buy #missiles capable of striking #China and ready it for sustained conflict, as regional tensions and Russia’s #Ukraine invasion stoke war fears.

The sweeping, five-year plan, once unthinkable in
#pacifist Japan, will make the country the world’s third-biggest military spender after the #US and China, based on current budgets
