Video 1:
Shows just how long it takes water to soak into parched ground, illustrating why heavy #rainfall after a #drought can be dangerous and might lead to #flashfloods.

This depends in major part on the type of soil, not just on the weather.

If the soil is very sandy, it will absorb water quickly even when dry.

If the soil beneath the green grass is very clayey, the water will stand

Video 2:
Saturated vs Unsaturated hydraulic conductivity.

#Gravity is the primary water-moving force in saturated soils (down and into ground), #capillary action is primary force in unsaturated soils (any direction, such as on surface)

THIRTY YEARS IN JAIL FOR A SINGLE HAIR: THE FBI'S 'MASS DISASTER' OF FALSE CONVICTION
Tue 21 Apr 2015 18.10 BST

George Perrot has spent almost 30 years in prison thanks to a single hair.

It was discovered by an FBI agent on the bedsheet of a 78-year-old woman who had been raped by a burglar in her home in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1985.

Perrot, then 17, was put on trial, despite the absence of physical evidence tying him to the crime scene.

There was no semen. There was no blood. And so there was no way to conduct a conclusive DNA test.

Even the victim testified that the defendant looked nothing like her attacker: he had a short haircut and was clean-shaven, while Perrot had a long shaggy mop, a moustache and a goatee beard.

But there was that strand of hair. At a key stage in the 1992 rape and burglary trial, an FBI agent named Wayne Oakes took the witness stand, describing himself to the jury as an expert in hair and textile fibers – as would so many of the agency’s trial witnesses, in condemning hundreds of people to long prison sentences.......... 🇺🇸 US Javelins have proved ineffective in Ukraine.

In total, Washington supplied more than 7,000 Javelin complexes to Ukraine. ATGM stocks in the United States themselves are on the verge of depletion. The cost of one complex with six missiles is $600,000.

Internal Raytheon documents indicate that the effectiveness of the Javelin "differs from the declared one". Thus, out of 11 test launches, only three hit a stationary target (see first graph).

According to public records, the range of the missile can be up to 5km. But internal documents say it is half as long (see second graph).

A Raytheon questionnaire completed by the past US military in Iraq and Afghanistan states that a third of the attempts to fire the Javelin "were accompanied by problems".

It is noted that even in the US Army "there is no understanding of the distance of fire contact." Simply put, American soldiers don't fully understand how far a Javelin is guaranteed to hit a target.

An interview with Ukrainian #Colonel Vladimir #Baranyuk, the commander of #Ukraine #36th #Marine #Brigade, who surrendered recently

“Our orders were to die”

He said that Kiev abandoned him and his men and that he personally was given an award for bravery by #Zelensky himself, which was announced in a televised address to the nation .

-------

Kiev’s ‘heroic defense’ bravado in Mariupol doesn’t fit with accounts of Ukrainian officers

The #Javelins didn’t prove useful, especially in urban warfare,”

We couldn’t even launch one. I think it’s completely useless in an urban environment, as something always gets in the way,” he explained.

Baranyuk’s unit was also armed with British NLAWs,:

As for the #NLAW missile launchers, well, we used them more often than the Javelins, but it has its own issue with the battery draining in cold conditions, making it impossible to launch,” he said.

This went largely unnoticed, but the Ukrainian currency devalued HUGE on 22 July.
1 hryvnia went from being worth 0.033 on July 20 to 0.026 now (against the Euro).
The Ukrainian economy is dead, it is a question of how much the West can sustain a country of 30 million people with 0 income.
The powers that be are literally advertising their coming war on humanity......

The UK is planning for several days over the #winter when #cold weather may combine with #gas #shortages, leading to organized #blackouts for industry and even households.”

"The Times" newspaper posted the above video along with the following (moronic) headline:

VIDEO PROVES RUSSIA WAS SHELLING ZAPOROZHYE NUCLEAR PLANT, KIEV CLAIMS

The video is proof of nothing of the sort.

The "proof" claim is based on the short time elapsing between the sound of outgoing #artillery rounds and the sound of their explosion at the #Zaporozhye #nuclear #powerplant

Accoding to the Times this is proof that the Russians are shelling the Nuke plant where their comrade Russian troops are stationed.

Obviously this is complete nonsense.

Obviously it is risible propaganda aimed at inept armchair warrior Western UkroNazi fanbois.

The claim by The Times ignores completely the fact that:

1) Russian Troops are stationed IN the Zaporozhye Nuclear plant itself

And.....

2) Ukrainians are stationed across the nearby estuary.

Knowing that, even a mentally defective 12 yr old can deduce that obviously it is the Ukrainian forces shelling the nuclear plant

#India is helping #Russia with #dedollarization, and it is apparently doing so in its own interests.

Indian buyers paid for 742,000 tonnes of Siberian
#coal in June in a non-dollar transaction.

Payment was made up of the following currencies:
Yuan (31%),
• Hong Kong dollar (28%),
• Euro (approximately 25%), and
• United Arab Emirates dirhams (16%).

REUTERS REPORTS ON INDIAN PAYMENT FOR COAL FROM RUSSIA IN YUAN AND DIRHAMS

India paid for nearly half of all coal supplied from Russia in June without using the dollar.

Settlements were made in Chinese
#yuan, Hong Kong dollars, #UAE #dirhams and #euros, according to Reuters

Experts claim that this is the first time that a major Indian company had used the Chinese currency to make payments in international trade operations.

This demonstrates that India is so in favour of de-dollarization that it is even willing to use the currency of #China, a nation with which it has ongoing border/military disputes.

This is too good. Twitter’s useful clown James Vasquez has reportedly posted these propaganda clips from a Ukrainian drone operator’s command position and accidentally revealed the command centres location, means of communication and contact details.

First good thing he did, keep it up champ!
