DAY 150 OF THE RUSSO-UKRAINIAN WAR

"While #Krasnopal laser-guided munitions have destroyed hundreds of military vehicles, they too are not this war’s principal widow-maker.

That honor belongs to old-school 152-mm shells coupled with humble
#Orlan10 #drones.

Perhaps the most basic of the 30 Russian-made drones, the Orlan-10 uses a gasoline-fueled piston engine to power a single-propeller plane with a 2-meter wingspan.

Orlan-10s rely on rubber-band powered catapults for launch and parachutes to land.

Orlan-10s carry retail, made-in-the-USA GPS systems and off-the-shelf Canon cameras.

Nevertheless, Orlan-10s remain airborne for 16 hours at 5-kilometer altitudes whilst signaling real-time data to communication hubs 600 kilometers away.

Typical front-line "battles" consist of Orlan-10s beaming video of Ukrainian troops back to Russian communication hubs which then radio coordinates to batteries of four MSTA howitzers.

The MSTAs then rumble into firing positions up to 25 kilometers from the spotted Ukrainians.

Within one minute the MSTAs simultaneously fire 6 rounds each before driving off to elude counter-artillery.

Each round carries a 45-kilogram shrapnel, or incendiary, bomb.

The Russian Information Agency recently recounted a day wherein 157 such "battles" took place.

The Russians experienced ZERO CASUALTIES."

Interview with a #Russian Military #Drone/#Swarm systems specialist

OUR STEEL BIRDS: OPPORTUNITIES & PROSPECTS OF UNMANNED GROUPS

Question: "Vladimir Pavlovich, what brought you to science, to the military-industrial complex?"

Vladimir KUTAKHOV, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation:

“Since childhood, I have been attracted to aviation — the most interesting, high-tech field, where you can always find a use for yourself if you want. In addition, our family dynasty is military and aviation.........

We have long said that tomorrow’s battle is not the use of one drone by one operator. It will be just a remote-piloted system: here he controls the joystick from the ‘TV’, a tank is displayed. But when there is a war, we do not need to find a single tank, but to understand its location and role in the enemy grouping.

Therefore, we need to understand how to collect information from multiple drones, how to combine it, how to isolate the main elements from it, and what to do based on this information. You can’t catch this with a single drone.”

Question: And how will the group act in this case?

“There is a whole science of how to manage this group.

Our team keeps repeating the thesis:

"Tomorrow’s combat operations are not drone operations; they are the combat operations of groups, groups of interacting drones.’

The whole world is talking about this now: the United States, Turkey, and many others are doing this. And we are also seriously engaged in this.

The operator becomes not a person with a button (joystick), but the commander of a combat group.

But how this group should be formed, how to organise interaction, how to be used in combat – this is the subject of scientific research.

Little is said about this in the world’s media, but much is published on the pages of specialised magazines.

After all, the group behaviour of drones is important not only in the military sphere, but also in a wide range of civilian applications.

At the same time, theoretical, software and a number of design solutions are close to each other

AFU militant surprised by the small supply of food they were given for 4 days

According to the Ukrainian Nazi, they were given this supply of food for four for 4 days.

It is possible that the Ukrainian command is coming out and knows that the "defenders" of Ukraine will not live longer. Well, what's so surprising, why feed the dead?

THE SHORTEST HISTORY OF EUROPEAN SURFACE NAVAL WARFARE EVER WRITTEN

Up to the 1400s naval warfare is a species of land warfare. Fire your guns a few times and board the enemy.

Warships have very high forecastles and after castles because it is advantageous to hold the high ground.

The distance of your “bang” is quite short – an arrow’s range, a musket ball or the end of your sword.

Sometime in the 1500s the English get the idea that ships are floating gun platforms but don’t fully understand how to do it and so in the Armada battle they bang away at the Spanish fleet without doing much damage.

It takes a while to standardize guns, work out tactics and it all comes together at Trafalgar.

The bang/distance ratio is still short – a thousand yards is pretty good shooting – and most engagements are much closer.

But as guns get bigger and more accurate the bang/distance ratio grows until at Jutland battleships are hitting smudges on the horizon.

Enter the airplane.........

Beyond Satire: You couldn't make it up!

A political cabal at #Wikipedia changed the definition of the word "#Recession" to favor the #Biden regime,

Then all hell broke lose because of the redefinition and as a result not only was the "Recession" page locked to prevent furter changes, but the Wikipedia page for "#Definition" was edited to redefine the meaning of the word "definition" (adding the word "#fluid")

Here's a quick Kosovo primer: Province of Serbia, occupied by NATO in 1999 after the 78-day (illegal, illegitimate) air war. Serbia's sovereignty was guaranteed by UNSCR 1244, which the US and NATO ignored. Ethnic Albanian separatists, to whom NATO handed over power, declared independence in February 2008; it was first recognized by the US-backed puppet government of Afghanistan.

Serbia, Russia, China and about 100 other countries — including five EU members and even Ukraine — do not recognize Kosovo as independent. Even so, the US and EU are trying to pressure Belgrade to do so. The preferred method is "frog-boiling," having the ethnic Albanian government impose "constitutional order" by abolishing Serb documents and institutions, replacing them with "Kosovian" ones.

Most of the occupied province has been ethnically cleansed of Serbs (and other non-Albanians), with several major enclaves remaining around medieval monasteries in the south, and a chunk of territory in the north where the local Serbs basically self-organized in 1999, and have prevented Albanian control ever since. These people set up roadblocks back in 2011-13 and even held a referendum to rejoin Serbia, but the government in Belgrade sold them out.

The most recent attempt by "Kosovo" to impose its documents on the north, in September 2021, led to Serbian military being placed on alert and fears a war might break out. So now, Pristina authorities spiced their move up with accusations that Serbia was staging some kind of attack, on behalf of Russia, hoping the Western public high on Ukropium would buy it.

The latest news is that the US ambassador asked Pristina to back off for a month, and they agreed. This suggests the move may have been their own, and not orchestrated by Washington. Or that they need to buy time to prepare better...

SRI LANKA’S ARREST OF AEROFLOT PLANE WAS THE STRAW THAT BROKE PRESIDENT RAJAPAKSA’S BACK

..... On July 6, the Kremlin agreed to take the Sri Lankan call.

Rajapaksa was desperate; Putin non-committal.

“Had a very productive telecon with the #Russia President, Vladimir Putin,” Rajapaksa tweeted.

“While thanking him for all the support extended by his gvt to overcome the challenges of the past, I requested an offer of credit support to import fuel to #lka [Sri Lanka] in defeating the current econ challenges.

Further, I humbly made A request to restart
@AeroflotWorld operations in #lka. We unanimously agreed that strengthening bilateral relations in sectors such as tourism, trade & culture was paramount in reinforcing the friendship our two nations share.”

“The presidents,” reads the Kremlin communiqué, “discussed current matters of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, in particular, in energy, agriculture and transport… It was agreed to continue contacts at various levels.”

In Moscow the Russians interpreted Wickremesinghe and Rajapaksa to be making a public show of asking for Russian help in order to persuade Washington to rescue them instead.

The Kremlin was convinced the Sri Lankans were scheming and bluffing.

The reason was that on June 2, at Colombo’s airport, an Aeroflot Airbus Flight SU-288, with more than two hundred Russians returning to Moscow from holiday in the country, had been prevented from departing;

The aircraft had been stopped by an order from a judge of the Commercial High Court.

Ostensibly, the court was acting on a lawsuit filed against Aeroflot by an Irish(registered) aircraft leasing company called Celestial Aviation Trading 10 Limited.

In fact, that entity was a front for AerCap, the dominant global aviation leasing corporation in the world, controlled by General Electric of the US.

Celestial Aviation is an AerCap special purpose vehicle; its claim against the Aeroflot aircraft in Sri Lanka was part of Washington’s sanctions war — and Rajapaksa and Wickremesinghe were immediately told so by Russian officials.

The Sri Lankans claimed the court order was a “commercial dispute” with “no involvement of the state”; the Russians didn’t believe them.

The aircraft was released on June 6 and a Sri Lankan court official charged with corruption

But a month later, by the time Rajapaksa was appealing to Putin, Aeroflot had not restarted its flights.

There would also be no Russian oil nor credit to save Rajapaksa.
