🇮🇹 Italy Cuts Gambling Operators

Italy is reducing the number of gambling operators from 81 companies to around 33, following a drop in applications from 93 to about 50.

Many smaller companies decided not to apply because of several reasons:

➡️ A new €7M upfront licensing fee (up from €250K).

➡️ Taxes increased: 24.5% on sportsbook revenues and 25.5% on online casino revenues.

➡️ Annual fees: 3% of operators' gross gaming revenue.

And this is not even the end.

Operators must allocate 0.2% of their revenue (up to €1M) to responsible gambling initiatives, offering deposit limits, spending limits, and self-exclusion options.

Experts say Italy’s goal is clear: fewer, stronger gambling companies to ensure safer gaming for everyone.

🇸🇪 Sweden To Prohibit Gambling with Credit

The government has proposed a new law that would ban all forms of credit-funded gambling, not just credit offered by licensees.

Operators wouldn’t be allowed to:

↪️ Accept bets knowingly funded by credit

↪️ Allow third-party credit agreements

↪️ Take obvious credit card payments

↪️ Encourage gambling with borrowed money

The government is also asking operators to help stop people from using credit to gamble by displaying information signs in stores and delivering clear messages online.

🇧🇬 Bulgaria Proposes Tougher Rules for Online Gambling

Bulgaria plans to implement stricter consumer protection measures, which are now open for public feedback until July 5.

Here’s what’s on the table:

Time Limits:
🟢Players can gamble for a max of 4 hours per session.
🟢For people under 24 the limit drops to just 2 hours.
🟢Players can request to change limits, but increasing time triggers a 24-hour waiting period.

Loss Limits:
🟢Gamblers must set a daily loss cap.
🟢If they hit that cap, they’ll be automatically enrolled in a 7-day self-exclusion, pausing all gambling activity.
🟢Limits are tied to average national salaries.

Wagering Caps:
🟢Daily bets will be capped:
🟢20x average salary for players 24+
🟢10x average salary for those under 24

Anjouan Gaming now requires all B2B service providers—including platform providers, game developers, payment processors, and other critical service suppliers—to be licensed or formally recognized in order to work with our B2C operators.

How will it work?

For now - our team believes nothing changes for B2C operators.

In the future - probably Anjouan will have audits or will begin requiring additional documents/agreement for every partner B2C operator works with. And if such agreement is not with licensed service provider- they will do some actions. (?)
OR
For every new b2c license application Anjouan will ask for agreement which must be with recognized B2B provider.

Additional comments:
It’s definitely the move to be more recognized and it will work 100%. Mainly because of 850+ operators (and even more domains) under Anjouan.

Expected delays (?):
Also, it may be the reason of delays with new licenses. If you have agreement with unrecognized B2B provider, big one, and Anjouan doesn’t allow the application to proceed to the next step, then the applicant either will start pushing B2B provider or will change to recognized provider. Such change will take time as well as authorization for B2B provider.

What will be the next move of B2B service providers and Anjouan Team? 🤔

If you have questions - leave them in a comment or text @MGL_solutions for details

🚨 Big News: Evolution has white-listed the Anjouan License

The biggest online casino provider has obtained the Anjouan gaming license.

Quick reminder: Evolution is the top B2B provider of live casino platforms and games for gaming operators globally. They supply over 800 operators, including most Tier 1 brands.

This is truly big news because Evolution is a massive, publicly traded company. They don’t work with just any license, they’re known for choosing only strict and highly respected regulators.

So the fact that they’re now using Anjouan is a big deal.

The jurisdiction is now becoming a more accepted and recognized licensing option in the iGaming world.

Evolution’s decision will definitely catch the attention of other operators. It’s a clear signal that Anjouan is stepping out of the “grey area” and moving into the mainstream.

Let’s see where this goes.

We’d love to hear your thoughts: Would you consider Anjouan now? And if not, why?
